Wha??? PHX puts it together. Not saying they win a chip. This is regular season.
I don't care what happens there but this is all about all teams being healthy and PHX has a strong starphuch core.
But not all teams are going to be healthy.
We'll see!!! have a good season guys. Enjoy yourselves!
Phili is the 2 seed? Maybe on NBA live or something. Embiid is not playing b2b games. That's already 13-14 games he sits. He limps to the finish line at best every year. Paul George already has knee issues and starting the season hurt. His injury history makes OG look like AC Green.
Much more likely they win 45 games and are fighting to avoid the play in.
Indy is pretty deep and will win a ton of regular season games. They and their shit defense dont scare me at all come post season. They strike me as the biggest challenge for the 2 seed and 55ish wins.
These guys are just hunting for clicks at this point.
Also, is this the official Hang Your Ass Out There thread?

I like it better when we're underdogs and overachieving. With all of the roster turnover, we're really back to square one in the continuity department. I like our odds if we make it to the playoffs. I'd be happy with the 4-5-6 seed. I'm going to have to go 47 wins even though I think our ceiling could be 57 wins.

82 games my man. We don’t have enough NBA ready bodies for next man up. Both the starting and bench units have been re-jiggered and there’s going to be a learning curve. Yes we have better talent, but we are not a better team yet. By the new year or the second half of the season we should be ready to tear up the league if we can stay healthy. 47 wins isn’t an indictment of the team just a shit happens middle of the road guess.

but why? "82 games" doesnt mean anything. The sun will also come up and I will have a wank and a nap. So what?
Last year Grimes was the starting SG, McBride was a GLeague player, etc... etc...
We start this year with a healthy Brunson, Bridges, Hart, OG, KAT, McBride and a bunch of bench guys who have looked nothing short of very good every time they take the floor.
Last year we start w/ Brunson, Grimes, RJ, Jules, Mitch, IHart, IQ, and DD. Half those guys dont make the season and we still win 50.
I guess you really miss IHart?

Given the current state its not unreasonable. There will be chemistry adjustments to having two new starters, Josh perhaps did reformulate his jump shot and lacks confidence and its messing with him, and then there is Mikal whos shot/form is off kilter and in a bad way. Our core 4 is healthy but that can can go south pretty quickly. I can see a scenario of a rough patch. Naturally fans will freak!!

Nah I don't miss iHart but I'm pretty bad at the prediction thread and game picker. I really wanted to go 57 but I'm just not feeling it. I mean, we have 4 players on the team who started the season on the roster last year (I don't count Sims because he's a scrub and should't ever play meaningful minutes). You start adding up losses if we have a slow start to the season and then any missed games by key players of which we only have 6 (no depth), 7 when Mitch gets back someday. Our bench is probably going to have to play rookies and/or 2 way players. That's how I get to 35 regular season losses.
Celtics, Pacers, Cavs, Heat. That's a relatively tough first 4 games. Team is going to get tested right out of the gates. It will be a real tough four games if the Knicks pre-season shooting woes continue. If they come out firing, I think they set the tone for the season.
57-25 is my call. That's a big number. I don't think this roster is finished. But I believe. I believe we have two All Stars, two All NBA second team players. Two All Defensive players.
I think we are looking at a run that could end with a chip.
49 wins.
Boston
Philly
Milwaukee
Knicks
Cleveland
Indiana
Orlando
Miami
I rarely make predictions like this, especially about records...too many variables.
This team, if it comes together & injuries are minimal, can reach the finals.
Not sure I understand what's going on with Hart and Bridges. Bridges played in a complimentary role w/ the Suns, and Hart did it with us last year, but I have to believe that these issues will be ironed out during the season.
In a perfect world, with no injuries, this team should win at least 50 after a slow start, but be playing like a 65 win team by the end of the season.
51 wins

Miami (contract year for Butler)

If you want to hang you ass out here, let the moon shine bright!!
Im fine if you want to cut and past these into the "hang" thread.
I did this one first but should have named it as such.
Is everybody still felling confident or second guessing?

Re-evaluation based on data! There was another thread I think I commented on - and it was in the 40s that I guessed- maybe 44 or something- I’ll have to find it.
But, right now - we are playing like we’ll be in the play in or perhaps slightly above.
Very despondent that Mikalis not playing like a video highlight reel.
KAT is not soft. I suppose we got that out of the way. He is playing up there with Jokic for now.
Brunson is paying homage to Melo and its not always a good look.
OG playing great and usually has the tough assignment.
9 games in, 6 on the road thus far. For those emotionally charged, we have only three games at home.
Just one in division game.
While my ass out there with 55 wins I never thought win a chip this year. Even Super teams needed a year to gel and get the bench right. CBA makes it hard to round out and we have to stay under the 2nd apron until such time we are really close.
The journey is the fun part. Over coming adversity and growing can be also.

Way early and the surprises are there. Milwaukee is shit, BKN is respectable, and Clev is very very good! GSW? Their demise is premature?
If Philly can get healthy they will be there at the end. Detroit? Not sure what to make of them but they were my surprise team.
