NBA · OT: Jamal Magloire breaks finger (page 1)

Bonn1997 @ 11/28/2004 6:04 PM
and is out for a month according to NBAtv
NYK3 @ 11/28/2004 6:10 PM
NICE, well not good for him but good for us cause we play them in 2 weeks
MaTT4281 @ 11/28/2004 6:17 PM
And Davis is out with his back. NO was already desperately stuggling this season, and having those two guys out certainly doesn't help them.

How much longer is Davis out??
Bonn1997 @ 11/28/2004 6:25 PM
Wow; without Baron Davis or Jamal Magloire, they're probably the worst team in the league.
MaTT4281 @ 11/28/2004 6:28 PM
IDK how long he's out for, but he's on the IL and hasn't played the last 6 games.

What are they? 1-10? And today they play the Lakers. Ouch...

I'm not sure they aren't the worst team in the league, even with those 2! They are a poor quality side. Losing Mashburn killed them.

I was thinking that too. With both of those players, they're still a bad team in the west, but not the worst in the league. They're record this year might be deceiving because they've been without Baron for a while. But with both Baron and Jamal Magloire injured, they probably are the worst team by a landslide.
MaRbUrYiSaKnIcK @ 11/28/2004 7:01 PM
and baron davis is also crossed out in my all star east team xD
djsunyc @ 11/28/2004 9:56 PM
this team had disaster written all over it from the summer. davis wanted out - rumors of magloire being traded, the whole mashburn fiasco and of course the brilliant hiring of one of the more overrated coaches in byron scott. the only plus was the drafting of jr smith.
VDesai @ 11/28/2004 11:22 PM
I wonder if the same kind of precipitous decline would've happened to any of the 2nd tier Eastern conference teams (like us, Milwaukee, Boston, Philly, etc.) if they moved to the West. The injury bug obviously doesnt help matters...

is there a kind of a curse on this team ? i mean, everything is always going the wrong way for them, since they had zo and LJ.

that team can turn things around next year in a hurry if they nab themselves a top lottery pick & get Mashburn back healthy.

i dunno about getting Mashburn back healthy, he's been talking about retiring
Bonn1997 @ 11/29/2004 10:41 AM
Mashburn's done. He has unsuccessful microfracture surgery. His knee has no cartilage. I expect that he'll never play another NBA game.
raven @ 11/29/2004 10:47 AM
right. mash seems to be completely burnt. no way he can come back now.
Bonn1997 @ 11/29/2004 10:55 PM
Now they're saying Magloire is out for up to THREE months. This is a disaster for the Hornets. I thought that one month for a fractured finger was unrealistic since it was more than just a hairline fracture.
franco12 @ 11/30/2004 9:29 AM
he should just tape it up and get back out on the floor!

even so, a top draft pick, Baron & Magliore healthy along w/a MLE FA signing could bring that team back from the dead in a hurry imo.

I have my doubts about that. The team didn't seem to be playing too well even with BDiddy and Magloire.
They may be stuck in the lottery for a few years before they can pick things up to where they once were.

Ouch. Magloire out for 3 months is really going to hurt (more so than they already were).
