Apparently we have won 15 straight against the Pistons and I am sure Thibs et al are looking to give KAT a day off as hopefully he won’t be needed!
I remember Thibs had used Sims to start and kept iHart with second unit. Naturally this was before last seasons breakout by iHart. Perhaps it was to keep Isiah out of foul trouble and there to finish the game as he normally would.
It was odd to start Sims over iHart but understandable.
Id Kat does not play tonite, does Huk get the start? Not to say he is over Sims in the rotation quite yet, but for the purpose as mentioned?
With a win over Miami, does he keep Kat out? Detroit is not last years pushover.
Cunningham and Ivey have started the season strong and both can score so our defense can't take the night off. KAT is questionable with the wrist so if he cannot go, we will need OG can give us some scoring and we will need Sims and Hukporti to rebound.

I think the idea was to keep the lineup combos consistent - iHart was playing with the 2nd unit lineups and was a creation hub. I don't think Thibs wanted to break that. One Randle also went down, then Brunson-iHart pair became a key link up to create our offense and clearly was important with the first unit.
Long story short, Sims and Huk are fairly interchangeable at the moment as there isn't continuity on the 2nd unit, and both guys generally play the same role on offense (and neither are crucial as a creation hub). If KAT is out I think either could start, and they probably effectively will split minutes anyway.

this would be a nice view into what extended minutes with Sims/Huk looks like. Good internal competition. I think most see Huk here as having more upside but it would be nice to see Sims play well
Go time!
unleash the Big Mermaid!
Hukporti isn’t going to replace KAT’s scoring. I hope we see an extended run of Dadiet. Sims/Hukporti/Dadiet would expand the rotation to 9 I believe

Don't tell the incredible Huk what he can or can't do. Maybe he was holding back his scoring because he didn't want to embarrass Bodega KAT.

Huk smash!
Is McBride and Dadiet considered MacDaddy or DaddyMac? Asking for a 90’s ex-rapper duo friend.

Not necessarily a good thing as we are only 5 deep!
