KAT is mot the issue on D. Its Mikal

Ihart leaving was the real setback. We could not afford him leaving because he was too important to what we did. He was the last line of defense when others got beat. Now we get beat and its an auto score or pass for and open 3.
IHart and not having a healthy Mitch. I think either Bridges or OG lead the team in blocks. That tells you all you need to know about the defense at the rim.

Agree. KAT isn't the problem. He has been as advertised or more.
But Bridges? Sorry but he freaking sucks! Overrated on both ends. Always late on defense, looking lost, and then that ugly jumper. He isn't fitting and its veeery worrisome.
And the rest of the team? Its just leaving men open every single time. And playing without urgency? GTFO
Just look at the starting line-up stats, who didn't do their job? Seems obvious to me. I wanted Mikal too, but think he was an expected overpay. I think he will shape up, but was he worth that overpay, I hope so.
Also, several baskets KAT gives up is due to the blow by defense of JB, Mikal, Deuce, & even Hart. KAT can't take extra fouls when he already takes questionable ones. KAT has been A+ as an asset. Imagine how bad we lose tonight without him. Bridges & Deuce 1-11 on 3s, 1-14 if you include Hart who isn't a 3 guy. Silver lining, JB offense looks worlds better tonight.
We were so close to being elite and OKC had to steal iHart. We could have just added Bridges to what we had. Instead we had to mess with the roster and how it fits to fill his void.

Both can be the issue. But stats point to Mikal being solid on his man this season. Mikal's job isn't to intimidate drivers in the paint. That's all on KAT.

KAT isn't the problem offensively. Defensively, he's a square peg being pushed into a round hole.
Oh, but where is that legendary Wingstop that was supposed to be the nightmare of the league? Just another overrated aspect of our game.
Wow, Im so down on this team right now. I can understand things still not fitting, but not playing with passion and urgency on a game where you lead by double digits only to AGAIN fall apart in the 4th? These meltdowns are becoming a trend and Im hating it.
did I really waste my afternoon watching this game?
Who owns our draft pick?
Thibs has to do something. Were we just gassed by the 4th?
I knew we were hanging by a thread and it just snapped.
Thibs has to play the rookies because I'd rather lose by 20 that way than lose by 20 watching guys just collapse in the 4th quarter.
Kats been playing well but lets not forget Randle playmaking set us up with a ton of open 3's. We don't get them now.
We need more from Mikal on both ends. He hasn’t been the difference maker he needs to be.

Honestly its mostly Mikal and the freaking switching. We are always late in defensive rotations, either leaving a man open for three or the ball finding the man open in the paint while KAT is not around. But we were supposed to have that covered with Mikal, OG and Hart, yet its becoming another overrated aspect of this team.

Wingstop hasn't lived up to the hype, but they haven't been horrible. You want OG to attack his man o defensive, rotate and protect the rim?

Im in Europe. I have to stay late or wake up extremely early for these games. Knicks are making me hate them.
Amen, what does Sims add to this team? Rather see, Huk or Dadiet with those 9 mins.

Hart has been helping on that aspect. Mikal was supposed to, but right now he just sucks on every level.

I'd argue the team doesn't switch enough. KAT will never be a backline defender, but he's still fairly nimble. We need Mitch back.

He has been the difference maker, for all the wrong reasons. Honestly so much hate has been directed at KAT that nobody is seeing how terrible Bridges has been?
I could be wrong but I don't think our problems are fixable from chemistry alone. It is a fit problem. Out perimeters D has never been great. OG will have moments but we always got beat. Mitch and iHart would just clean up their messes. So we only gave up 3's then. That is just not Kats game. We still lack playmakers other than brunson and the only other playmaker we have stands in the corner if he gets to play at all. I will never forgive OKC.

I agree Sims has been underwhelming. But he has always been a break in case of emergency guy. What do people expect. Agree, I'd like to see more of Huk, but Thibs has his way.
