Hopefully we get KAT and Deuce back.

I thought Pacome gave us nice minutes

Yeah, most of the bench gave us good minutes and they were crucial.

Either a rite of passage or just getting his trade value up, but this Simms getting more opportunities than Huk (not today, thankfully) won’t last long.

I would see what I can get for Simms at some point later in the season, when we actually have guys back, because I’m also very intrigued by Brown on the G-League.

I know that this team is still finding its way, but the defensive issues are very alarming and don’t seem to stop. It’s becoming such a concerning trend that I wonder how exactly will it change. Getting Precious and later Mitch back will certainly help, but what’s off is a team approach more than anything in specific, although Mikal and Hart’s individual issues on D are definitely part of the problem.

And the 4th quarters… How are we letting this become such a thing?! It’s cardiac Knicks for a full quarter? Noooo man…

Good for him to end that way, but alarming during most of those minutes, especially with the lead dwindling down. We need him to play like one of our top players on both ends, especially on a night without KAT and Deuce.

YES - Hucks longer arms and ability to trail the drive and still impact guys at the rim are impressive --- think being lefty is helping him on some of his contests.

One reason is our clear #2 option with Kat/OG on the bench (Mikal) was running away from the ball and refused to even shoot down the stretch. His decision making is scary primarily because he looks scared.

They were doubling the ball handler and instead of coming towards the ball we had guys camping out across the court. Knicks need to watch that tape, bc the way the handled that double was atrocious. Ball kept ending up with Cam. He took 2 bad 3's, but the one right off the offensive rebound wasnt a good decision as we needed to kill some clock in that situation.

Yes agree but why not have Cam or Hart bring the ball up quick and get into some action - rather than the Brunson 16 second dribble up into a double team

WOW - I used to think he was a great player -- pretty much a large nothing now.

The refs again?

Jesus I mean even outside of every reviewed call --- felt like 90% of calls were whack against us

That's funny on the 12th graders - guess I'm guilty of being a bit harsh on Bridges early on

This is what I saw and it was worse than ZERO stats - just the way he acted like the ball was a hand grenade.

Reading this thread after the game is so intense.

UK fan be like:
Vs Chicago Weds night: "We down 22 came back, Lose game, we suck, WTF, Refs suck!
Vs Brooklyn tonite: "We up 18 and refs suck, we win, we suck".

Brooklyn fans be like:"we down 18, bitch slap knicks and Jordi freaking rocks......Man we lost but they played hard!"

Every time I start even thinking about criticizing Brunson, I take a step back and look at his stats. He’s facing double teams across the board and maybe forcing a some shots, but he is still putting up ridiculous numbers. I like to think of it as him getting his practice in the double team in.

Now, letting Brunson play through the press actually leaves the defense out of position and not set when they cross half court. Brunson found Bridges at the top of the key with a 4 on 3 and they missed the open look. But if letting Brunson fight through the press results in 4 on 3, I think you recognize he is taking one for the team fighting through the trap. And he is skilled enough to break it by himself.

Now his rotations need work. He’s slow on getting to the corner. But, they will figure it out.

Those are two shitty teams and we are supposed to be good.

Harsh. That was a weird 10 minutes. But yeah, but would have been nice to see more impact.

I was up at 430 am so was dead tired and fell asleep up 21 entering the 4th. Looks like we experienced the literal complete opposite of the Bulls game.

It’s alarming that guys we should be able to slow down with Mikal seem to have no issues at all going ham against us. Even without KAT the defense sucked much of the game.

That said, with Huk this team plays like the team we are used to stylistically. Just having a big shot blocker in there feels like a comfort zone watching this team. He’s better than Sims and it’s not close IMO.

CanItGetAnyWorse @ 11/16/2024 8:17 AM
Glad to see Thibs give Huk and Pac some minutes. Even if injuries partly forced his hand, I hope he saw what we all did from the rooks.
Props to Bridges. Hopefully this starts something.

Defense needs work. Then thus-far underwhelming Atlanta rookie looks like an allstar against us. The good Cam Thomas looks like Superman. No adjustments?

What the hell is up with Clyde. I had to turn off the volume. It was like he wanted them to lose w his droning on. Love the guy but sheesh

They took a while but Thibs switched OG onto him and put him on ball denial. Then the refs attacked OG.

Trade Bridges?

SergioNYK @ 11/16/2024 9:30 AM
Thankfully Brunson and Bridges saved us there at the end cause this would have been such a bad loss. Outscored 40-24 in the 4th! This needs to be fixed ASAP!

But a win is a win. Brunson needed to have a big game without KAT and he delivered with 37. Made two huge And1's late in the 4th and also hit that game winning 3. He also had some nice passes including that one to Huk for the dunk. Bridges also stepped up against his old team and he did have the game winning block but his man to man defense needs to get better. OG was a beast again and I bet he leads all wing players in dunks. Seems like he gets 3 dunks every game. Zebras were really bad as always. Our challenges need to get better though.

Shout out to the rooks! They gave us some good minutes especially Hukporti! Love his energy and motor and already can change some shots with his length. I think he's ready to replace Sims on the depth chart.

Kudos to Nets for fighting back. Cam Thomas is a special shooter and scorer. Ben Simmons is really bad.
