Knicks · Nyets vs. Knicks - Friday Night 7:30 MSG - Emirates Cup (page 13)
But a win is a win. Brunson needed to have a big game without KAT and he delivered with 37. Made two huge And1's late in the 4th and also hit that game winning 3. He also had some nice passes including that one to Huk for the dunk. Bridges also stepped up against his old team and he did have the game winning block but his man to man defense needs to get better. OG was a beast again and I bet he leads all wing players in dunks. Seems like he gets 3 dunks every game. Zebras were really bad as always. Our challenges need to get better though.
Shout out to the rooks! They gave us some good minutes especially Hukporti! Love his energy and motor and already can change some shots with his length. I think he's ready to replace Sims on the depth chart.
Kudos to Nets for fighting back. Cam Thomas is a special shooter and scorer. Ben Simmons is really bad.

Those are two shitty teams and we are supposed to be good.
Its the NBA. Bad teams beat good teams. Bad teams are not always bad.
Good teams are not always good.
Knicks have yet to be consistently good and
When did OG foul out and the net effect in the aftermath?
when was Jalen Brunson a really good defender? Last year?
Precious will help. To what degree? Stay tuned.
Ryan sat, Dadiet got his minutes. At least he hit his shot!
Kolek is playing like a rookie.
Seems we extrapolate as fans when a rookie gives us a good game and its "Thibs is holding him back".
YEs, expectations are inflated with fans hungry for winning.
Knicks might have overcompensated for Chicago game vs nets to jump out expending a lot of energy doing so.
Half empty or full? Vs. Bulls they showed the fight to come back. Vs nets, they were clutch.
Clyde was a bit annoying. It think we don't realize we see the game thru him and his comments and last night he was hell bent on calling out the lack of clutch then calling the game. He was a bit redundant. He was annoyed by the game as much as anyone!!! I love Clyde, but last night he was not at his best.
I agree with Josh that expectations on Mikal are high at times. Fans who wanted him really thought the world of him but on a nightly basis he is not perhaps as "perfect" as thought?
Cam Payne is really a love or hate type player. We missed Deuce last night.

Hard to take any complaints seriously with three new starters and 2 new major additions to a roster.
Not to mention a bench still looking to get an identity and healthy.
Give it till March.
Then all my fears will be confirmed.

Its nice to say "conf finals or its a bust", fact is we can run into a good team like Indy injured and not make it, or run into a healthy Clev or Bost (assuming they are on track, healthy, and still kicking ass" and one has to throw the hands up and say "they a better team".
Somtimes its not on paper, but on the Court!
"we suppose to be good". We are on paper. The bench might lack talent. Sometimes it lacks chemistry and its an easy fix to coach.
Right now Matt Ryan can't hit a shot! His knick career might be very short lived if he don't perform. Glad Dadiet got some run.
Kolek? Other than fan build up I have no issues with him. He a rookie and has to learn the speed at this level.
Last night Mikal and OG played 40 plus minutes also. No deuce. No Kat, and no precious.
I like that this teams is getting tested early in the season. Past Thibs coached teams have figured out those 4th Q collapses and this one will to.

A 7’ version of Randle bully ball. 😁😁😁 I can see him developing a nice post game. Add a little pull up jumper and that a very nice well rounded player with the 56th pick.

It’s easy to say we have to be patient. Most reasonable will be.
But after how we looked last January, it will be hard to swallow if we don’t make it to the conference finals.
Especially after committing so many assets to KAT and Bridges.
Feel that those making excuses or claiming it’s a long process will be those that can’t admit that not all moves are good ones.
But pretty optimistic with KAT’s recent play and the fact this roster is far from being healthy.
As well as completely familiar with each others games in just a dozen games.

Kinda but not really. Thomas is a guy I posted about on 21 draft night thread. Although can’t hate the Grimes pick.
Also kinda makes you think what Thomas trade would have looked like instead of Bridges.
Feel we needed a guy like that and one like Randle and Donte who would not be shy to take a shot with JB on the floor. Think our issue going forward is having guys on the court that are aggressive and don’t bow to handing JB the ball. Feel Broken she’s is that. Thankfully, KAT seems to have shifted from barely taking shots in first few games to looking for his more.
Feel JB will have to be willing to share the limelight and make other guys better if we are to be elite.

Knicks are just about 10 games into this new roster while missing enough key pieces, it’s not even time to make any judgements no less setting up some type of excuse making or admittance of anything type caveat callout like you are laying out. Holy cow
You know what happens at the beginning of every year when a teacher gets a new classroom of kids? It’s typically chaos compared to the end. This is normal stuff for every team.
It’s Not get your panties in a bunch time, as well, it’s more bourbon time.
