I do agree we need wing depth. Theoretically 8 man rotation has Precious, Deuce and Payne. If our Wings stay healthy - we may not have to go 9 man. Right now 9th man can be spot minutes for Sims depending on the size matchup.

However if an injury hits - and with OG its always a worry, a true wing would be great. Theres some ideal world where Charlotte takes Mitch, Sims and 2nds for Josh Green and Nick Richards, but thats probably the same as the Herb Jones dream.

have you any conversations or read anything as to pelicans view on Mitch?
This beyond he from the great state of Louisiana?
What would "Convince" you of their interest beyond a public statement of validation?
As for wing depth, we seem to be top heavy basically starting three. Josh in my book is a 3.
I recall reading the was to work with JJ Reddick this summer but Im assuming JJ got distracted but there is a notable improvement. Given ball movement and a potent offensive he is getting nice looks later in the 24 second cycle and making them.

As for the Herb Jones for Mitch, I suppose that works. What we don't know is the plan for Mitch and how Thibs plans on using him. If had to guess its going to require Mitch getting into shape, getting sharp and perhaps that takes us right to the trade deadline. Given he is signed for another year beyond this I'd think he sticks until this summer. If a team made us an offer we can't refuse, well then anything is possible.

Precious? Most unfortunate he got hurt. HE is a trade asset but his services are needed. We don't have surplus. If he plays well, his value goes up. If not, his is not playing well and on the bench more than not. So his play on the court will dictate a lot, including his future value.

Do I want him here long term? Look at it this way, when we signed iHart and DDV its not like were super excited. These were players that had yet to play in stability. The culture defined them. I'd hope Precious stays there constraints to what he can be paid. We can argue all day long about that but the next 60 games will determine that.

If not him, then I'd suspect others can be signed and integrated well. Cam Payne is doing well here. I see a pattern. Its a good thing!!

I think Vdesai’s position is reasonable. Been batting the Robinson/Jones trade made sense when NoP only had an untested Missi and an excess of wings. Between injuries and Missi stepping up, I think the fit for both sides is less clear. It’s why I figured we needed to sweeten the pot.

My greatest fear are these dim rumors that they make a move for Clarkson. The pricing structure works, but the player is an advanced stat midget. High volume low efficiency. Sexton, Kessler are the only players I care about on Utah now. Sexton is priced out salary wise and Kessler is probably to expensive capital wise.

After that, you really only have the ability to fleece Washington or Portland.

See, I don’t think Mitch is bad or anything, but he doesn’t fit the system. He can anchor minutes for a bench unit. Hell, maybe a healthy Mitch can use those minutes to develop his offensive presence. But if our window is now approximately the next four years, I probably am looking to find a better fit sooner. I do think NOP would be perfect for him. They need a grinder like him. We don’t, anymore. He’s got maybe 10 minutes of available playing time here.

Just compared Clarkson to Cam Payne. We all know Cam is streaky, but Clarkson would be a downgrade.

Dallas is an impressive team.

Wait til we get Mitch back

That’s about right. He’s the Jordan Poole of 6th men.

Its not plug and play.
Do we not have some basis to consider players when they submit to the Thibian way are sometimes different?
Granted, the rumor blog complex produces silly shit all the time.
Im not advocating Clarkson at all. But if the team decided to do that perhaps they have earned respect they know what they are doing?

Go to throw out props not to Aller and Leon, but to the basketball guys that evaluate the talent. I think this is Rosas, Thibs of course, Perrin, H20 and Zannin.
These are the hoop guys. Perhaps Wes is there. Leon is the boss but not sure who the architect is? Aller the wiz with the contracts and maybe the analytics in some fashion?
Leon is in charge so yes, he gets love.

IMHO they have all done a terrific job, not an outlier statement. But it also takes very well coordinated efforts across players, coaching, scouting, salary cap management, outward negotiation with other teams and whatnot. To get everyone on the same page, even if it took some time, is incredible IMHO

Look at Golden State as an example. They were kings for so long. Drafting Steph, Klay, Green and building and putting parts around them and winning trophies. They have flopped against their own high standards over the past 4-5 years IMHO. Fucked up the #2 pick. Fucked up Durant leaving. Fucked up a lot of draft picks. I can't even tell if they have developed any good, long term young players recently. Klay left without compensation.

It's an incredibly delicate balance. Getting everyone both on the same page and then also executing without fucking up too badly to set you back too far.

They did win a chip in 2022. We forget.
Knicks needed like 20 years to get back to this level.
But Wiseman and Kuminga did not take the reigns.
They were good to let Play walk. Im reading Dallas might trade Klay? Weird.
Did the fuck up Durant or is this how he rolls? Come east and but his stamp as lead dog on Nets. Came close. BKN was snake bit by Covid and Kyries melt down.
Jordan made it look easy. But its been said the competition was diluted back then and now the CBA forces teams manage very different then in previous generations.

Two Elite 2-way players (Bridges and OG) that are capable of dropping 40 on sick effeciency! #vision

He may be 1E, but he's our 1E.

Has there ever been a Knick team where all 5 starters have scored 40 points in a game in a single season? Cuz I think we're now at 4 out of 5.
