I joke about his crackhead energy off the bench but that's what teams need, and he fits it to a T like a 10 dolla holla with the other local crackhead.
Thibs puts guys into a role and asks them to do just that and only that and role guys really excel if they hold to it.
I'm coming around to ignoring his weird mechanics and just watch the results.
he's been great and the signing makes alot of sense NOW after the trade.
Yeah this guy is a pest and he's annoying when he's on another team and gold on yours. Im sure we'll hate on him at some point this year when he goes on a shooting slump while still taking too many shots, but right now we love him. I think what's impressive too me is hustle on the defensive side of the ball. He gets in people's faces and he does a great job swarming out and helping on contests. He was such a good big part of the Suns - I can't recall why they gave up on him and why he bounced around a lot the last year or 2. Clearly he was a thorn in our sides the Philly series.
I'm a fan! Perfect guy off the bench!
Reminds me a of Sam Cassell.
All the love for Cam! He's been awesome! I really like the pace we seem to play when he's out there
He is fitting in to the schematic very well.
Im warming up to him. He is a knick after all.
Brandon Jennings married a chipmunk and they had a baby named Cam Payne
Not a fan but as a stopgap backup PG he's a good fit.
I've loved this signing from the start
Cam Payning and champagning... Until the next 2-10 game.
I love him and his pace. I just think he launches shots too quickly and often they are not good shots.
He has been bringing really good energy off the bench.
Unfortunately, we only signed him for one season so we will not be able to afford to resign him next offseason.
We are not likely to have him on the roster next season as a result of his production and contract situation.
Depending on how we are doing at the trade Deadline, I could see him getting traded to get some return on his value before we lose him for nothing.
If Cam Payne becomes essential for a title run at the Deadline... then we keep him for the playoff run, but will not be able to keep him going forward.
Knicks keep finding amazing value in free Agency, but made the same mistake with Hartenstein of not locking in for 3 years to get Bird rights.
I like Cam
But hate the crackhead comment.
The crackheads i know growing up in queens do not have cam’s energy.
But can we talk about that ugly sideways jumper? That nooooo yesssss type of form.
He’s perfect for what we need.

If I had to guess, he was not willing to lock in at that low salary for multiple years.
Same with Precious.
He understands his assignment and fits the role we need from him. Really good energy and sparkplug scorer. He’s a keeper.

I agree. He’s using these broadway lights to market himself. Just like most FAs that come through on a 1 yr rental.
But I don’t think it’s a mistake in reference to losing iHart. We turned him into a valuable asset. The mistake is not utilizing his value as a trade asset. Unless iHart told Leon hes resigning and decided not to after seeing those dollars from OKC.
If we traded iHart, we don't get the nice ending last year.
if traded, was new team hamstrung to what they could pay him?
If so his trade value would be very low.
iHart got a unique offer. Only maybe 1 or 2 wild overpays a year like he got. Started with Houston’ish with FVV and What’s his face.
Shit happens.
He’s not afraid to take a shot
Right now he's the best thing to come out of the Bridges trade
