OG gets a pass. The Knicks brought in Brunson and KAT to pick up the slack when OG is off.
OG was clearly tired - no legs. Knicks need to figure out the minutes distribution

Silver lining, the Wolves lost their 4th straight? JK True bright point, scored 76 in the 2nd half and won both quarters.
Lastly, some math, Utah destroys us, we destroy the Nuggets, then the Nuggets destroy the Jazz. That's basketball logic, goodnight.

Weird game coming off that historic scoring game. The ball is simply not going to fall every game and you are not going to score 145 and have 45 assists. This team needs to make defense and rebounding the priorities. Those two are given if you commit to do them.
I know most will point to the slow start offensively but the defense and rebounding was not good enough. You're not going to win on the road giving up 129 points on 57% shooting and getting outrebounded 43-33.
This team… I can’t really fall in love with it with this pathetic defense. What is the point of a “historic offensive night” if you consistently play like crap on defense and will keep alternating between “the Knicks have the best offense” to “crisis in NY, they need to come back next game with a better performance”? This team is trending in the wrong direction because a powerful offense is nice and flashy, but consistency on defense is what really marks a difference between contenders and pretenders. While it’s still too early to say they are the latter, they don’t seem to care about performing on defense like a contender.
It’s not about the loses, it’s the way they show up. So for their wins to happen the offense has to click and the defense has one or two good sequences but that’s it. But in the losses? Offense sucks but you have no defense to save you. I don’t like that. That’s not a contender. They have a long way to go and if their defense is basically one or two guys that have yet to play, then they are definitely pretending. I can’t believe that a Thibs-coached team is this bad on defense.
And Bridges consistently sucks. Shocking how bad that trade has been so far. Yes, in this game, the worst player was OG, which was a very quick and sobering regression to the means, but Bridges just consistently sucks.
Worried about Bridges? Absolutely. Worried about the defense? Definitely. This team is infuriatingly inconsistent.
Meanwhile, the Magic keep taking care of their business. They are clearly the third best team in the East. We seem to be in the “around .500” tier with our sorry defense.
