Knicks · Playing Mitch with Towns may solve our inconsistency (page 1)

Which would mean bringing Hart off the bench despite being one of our most consistent players. This would enable him to sub in for 3 different position to help balance mins. Towns may not have the lateral movement to guard many 4’s but he has the length and has Mitch backing him up.

Yeah, I'm not convinced Shams has legitimate sources for breaking insider stuff. It's going to take a few years of him building some credibility before I believe anything he tries to break. I think Windy is probably more plugged in than this dude. Shams already has Butler's agent calling him out for making shit up.

We have yet to see what this roster was supposed to look like when everyone is healthy. Mitch and Shamet will give us better flexibility for match ups.

I fucking hate Embiid

I thought Precious was supposed to be our savior?

Don’t hate him for the state of Mitch’s ankle.
That ankle was a ticking time bomb.

Precious stepping up is a plan.
Mitch saving the day is desperation.

Match ups. There are match ups where you want a 7 foot rim protecting beast and rebounding machine

Yes - this is likely best because we are softer with KAT at the 5. Yesterday we may have fallen short with Mitch playing for KAT but our defense would have been much better. Mitch would have helped all the offensive rebounding from the Hawks and could have guarded Capela or Okongwo. If we envision KAT as a bigger, more offensively polished Randle we can regain our defensive identity by playing him next to Mitch or any defensive minded center.

True. But he knew the state of Mitch's ankle and still decided to grab it. That's degenerate behavior.

Love the versatility of Hart which would automatically make him the favorite for 6th man of the year. The time Towns spent playing next to Goebert will definitely help when playing with Mitch. Also a healthy Mitch is athletic enough to guard 4s.
ramtour420@ 12/12/2024 4:25 PM
Mitch + KAT together could be used to protect any lead. No rebounds for opponent. Like O :)
Real question is how we are going to incorporate Mitch into our offense. The absolute minimum we will have to do is throw alley to him. Somehow

This team can’t be fixed. Kat is a lovely player, but this group is soft and fluffy. Anyone expecting Mitch to save the day is deluding themselves. We’re a high 40 wins team (46,47,48) and a 2nd round exit.
This team lacks grit, for all the posing and muscle flexing that Josh and Kat do.
Honestly - best thing would be to fire Thibs, get someone else in here to try to shake things up.
I know we’re 4th in the East, sitting with a 600 wins team %. But we really struggle at times and it’s frustrating to see Thibs with the same defensive strategy and the constant playing Mikal Bridges for 40 minutes a game and I’m shocked OG hasn’t gone down yet.
Januarys Knicks were special. This group is not.

The Knicks have the 8th best record in the league, and have not yet gelled.
Feel like there may be a little more wiggle room here.

If I am reading this correctly, the Knicks have had the 3rd easiest schedule thus far.
I agree they have room to improve, I just don't see it being that much. Improvement upside - yes - been almost totally healthy- has OG missed any games? These will balance out and then we start playing more better teams, we'll end up in that 48 win zone, which is fine.

You may find it correlating some that the best teams have the “easiest” schedule and some if the worst teams have had the hardest.
One may wonder why.
