I rather have Warren on the bench. He can definitely contribute much more thanb Ryan or Didiet. He could give us at least 10 minutes a night or possibly more on some nights. Probably some money issue that is keeping him in the League, Hopefully he and Shamet will be up at some point and strengthen the bench
I think the Knicks agree, but the fact that he is a veteran and we are limited by the cap hurts us. I do wonder if at some point of the season it does become possible.

Its weird the NBA union agreed to their current deal. Vets like Warren due to the vet min for a player with Warrens years of service is less desirable to teams or even impossible to sign for some due to cap space, so the vet has to play in the minor league where they make less money then the vet min.

My understanding is the last iteration of the union was made up with guys who were in the max salary territory and they shaded towards favoring those type of players. And it shows.
Agree 110%!
Especially Warren over Ryan cause we don't need Ryan's skillset. Warren can score and spell OG/Hart/Mikal for 10-12 mpg.
This is a Brock Aller puzzle to solve. 500K of room under the 2nd apron. Apparently no math to have more than 1 of Shamet and Warren on the roster (I think we can keep Ryan on a 2 way).
At some point there will be a wing injury and we will need Warren or Shamet to play and Warren has way better size, and he has been a passable 3 point shooter.

They must be thinking about it. There is not reason TJ Warren would be in the Knicks GLeague for this long. Maybe he is just trying to rehab his career but I'd guess he had some sort of semi promise and was told to just wait until Feb or when something happens?

I feel like Shamet got the promise and we gave Warren an opportunity to re-ignite his career. He hasn't been able to establish himself on a team after his injury, so maybe he is done, or maybe he finally feels healthy and confident. He was a way bigger NBA question mark than Shamet or even Marcus Morris who we were considering early.
I'm definitely not letting Dadiet go in favor of TJ. Dadiet is a big wing who could conceivably play both forward spots and fill multiple check marks off the bench. Big wings are the thing now and this roster needs young talent. Now I agree with Warren over Ryan and possible Shamet. Shamet is more of luxury considering they already have Deuce and Cam. Shamet does a decent job guarding guys his size, but he won't be able to guard the big or even medium sized wings. I'd say free up space by trading Sims, but it's tough considering the team can't take in more salary than it brings in. It's probably wait and see until they make a decision on Mitch.

I'm not letting go of Dadiet either. Dadiet really needs to play every day in the g league to improve. Dadiet playing only in blowouts is not doing him any favors. He really doesn't look great out there and needs consistent time on the court to improve. Warren looks like an NBA player down there and I'm sure he would be an improvement on this team and if Thibs let him, he can give some of our starters a breather here and there.
