https://www.basketball-reference.com/pla...The love of the game, the love of money, or what ever, he has made some $60,000,000 career earnings and over seas you get hurt, they cut your ass.
His injuries have been vast and perhaps taking a long view is his best shot of returning and staying on the court. Mostly feet and ankle issues.
Im guessing as I have not read anything much about him other than he keeps trying.
As for the money, the fit, the defense, the love, what ever, its all just a guess. He is bonafide NBA talent and is not that old. Hope it all works out for him, Shamet, and Mitch!
Didn't realize he played for Minnesota last season. Maybe KAT put in a good word? It takes time for some guys to reinvent their games one the athleticism starts to slip. Alec Burks is a good example. He's talked about having to redefine his game after ankle surgery from a slasher to
a midrange maestro and three-point marksman. The organization saw something in TJ to keep him around.
Ryan is the odd man out at this point. His position is too redundant to take a roster spot for someone at his skill level.
Wish we had Warren and Brown to get more depth and size on this roster. If your going to have projects, they really should be at positions of need.
Wish Kolek would get more minutes and am starting to get frustrated with Cam Payne.
Just once I would love to see Kolek out there with all 4 starters as Brunson's backup. Anytime Kolek is in the game, Cam Payne plays the 2 or they divide the time between 1 and 2 which is not really helpful for continuity and chemistry. I want to see Kolek on the court with Bridges, OG, Hart, and Towns.

Well, when Brunson needs. night off and Payne is also, perhaps you'll get that.
Kolek still might be inching his way to being trusted. Not because fans know better, he has to master some nuances for his coach to trust him. This is a common theme about Thibs and the bench. When the players do break out its like "see, told you....."
Not really. Deuce development was set when he was drafted and fine to ride the pine for two years but not be in the Gleague. Dadiet stated before drafted he did not want Gleague either. For the most part, they are getting to play there but mostly with the varsity.
Just because they showed a few things here and there does not mean they are ready. Being a fan, we see results, not the qualifiers.
We also don't know what they re being tasked to do to demonstrate proficiency. A lot of NBA players or prospects can chuck up a 20 pt game but did they play defense? Did they play within the schematic of the team and its culture? Did they cover their defensive assignments? Did they get lost?
We don't see a lot of what I just wrote.
Poster child for this is Alonzo Trier. The guy put up numbers. Was never seen again in the NBA. I don't know what this dude did or did not do to get exiled but Something tells me he did not "get it". Most extreme circumstance I can recall.
I'll use our old friend Elfred Payton as another. This guy did not put up great numbers but Thibs trusted him to do play within himself and the team. He was experienced and had fallen from grace by the time he got here but he was part of winning.
To not play an NBA game for 3 years, then get 7 game stint and have a game that had 19 assists was something. Hope he gets another gig. Not saying he is any kind of savior and I suspect his shooting was the issue for his not being in the league.
If a PG to not have that threat is a career killer.
What is Kolek missing from this game? What does he need to do to prove himself? If I knew that, then I'd call about Thibs.
I suspect he could still get a role this season. Cam Payne is not consistent enough and when his shot is not there and defense backs up a bit he struggles to penetrate.
We not talking about Jacob Toppin? he in that funny place were Deuce was? Can light up the Gleague but struggle in the big show? Maybe. He does not get any run to prove it either. At 6-8 he has size, and quickness. But what is he missing? I don't know.
Someone posted they want to see Mitch and Precious play together. did not say why? Curious. Precious offense game is most effective when moving. His creating can be ugly unless its video highlights.
