Thibs gonna be in tears tonight.

Read DRsose said he did not want a statue in Chicago of him. Just retire his number.
Love that about the guy. Self awareness keeping his ego in check.
Personally I don't dig the bronze "idol worshiping". I understand its a tradition thru history but we also have evolved in many.
We simply only do this for athletes? I get the Kobe thing with sentimental given he is gone. To some Kobe was a god on the basketball court.
To a few, he was a convicted rapist. I admire Kobe for being a young prick evolving into a businessman and father he was becoming. Shame he was taken so early.
His wealth gave him privilege to cheat time. Flying over traffic. He pressured the pilot to fly. There were others on the copter also.

Great athletes are not always great people. History is not always kind to the truths we learn about people. Im not apposed to honoring athletes for what they are, The statue thing? I think its a bit over the top. We had sports heroes as kids. Many were not good people. Some did transcend both sports and culture and perhaps did it for money and the love of fame. They ere bigger than life. Babe Ruth today? We'd blast him for being out of shape, on roads, and lambast him for missing games! LOL.

Great men? I suppose when you have Jackie Robinson that not only performed on the field but had to endure personal sacrifice to elevate the narrative of equality in a world that did not that. Jackie legacy is both performance on the field but mostly for him being the first and the dignity he demonstrated. Magic Johnson? Great Basketball player. Jordan? Great winner! I suppose the fans love this shit and want to attach "them good old days" and teams attache the nostalgia to help galvanize the fan base to sell more tickets.

Now, personally I see a derrick Rose who has grown from a sex starved immature young player whose journey had highs and lows to a mature player and father. Perhaps his best days are still ahead of him. Lebron in hi 20 years also was a immature ego driven star but along the way he has built schools and dared to speak his mind putting his endorsements at risk. Something Jordan never dared to. "Shut up and Dribble" is the MAGA pushback to him. At 40 with his career deserves a statue. But there is much more to Lebron than his basketball greatness.
I think perhaps teams should wait a good 20 years before doing this kind thing. Fans might not like it, but what sucks is when a statue has to come down or becomes a controversy. There is a difference between celebrating a mans achievements vs a mans life.

Some of his best moments were with Thibs!
Thibs is a better coach now perhaps in part he is now more chill.

The hope stretch gives them plenty of practice time and if need be work on integrating the bench? Maybe?
Shamet seems to be in the Thibian circle of trust so that should continue. Maybe Mitch gets ready and in some scrimmage?
Maybe he plays some Gleague to get ready?

Perhaps Matt Ryan gets another chance?

Our three points shooting has flattened. Ryan might help. Deuce could also use the extra rest to help his slumping shooting, among other things.

I am late to the party but we got lucky OG had on that Elbow brace. It would have been worse with direct contact with the floor.
Alpha1971 @ 1/4/2025 8:23 PM
Why the Knicks running this ad with the terrible white guy rapper ? He sucks .
VDesai @ 1/4/2025 8:29 PM
OG claimed to fall on his funny bone

Bulls announcers are so incredibly boring.

Actually, they're just bad.

I wonder how differently THT's career would've been if started out with Thibs as a coach. The idea of him would've been perfect for the bench. He could be our fat Josh Hart.

Can I listen to Monica or something on the radio?

Can I use my iPad to listen? Anybody got a link?

ToddTT @ 1/4/2025 9:07 PM
I'm looking forward to canceling Optimum next week.

League Pass, Max and Disney+ should get you most Knicks games this year. You can follow the the stream Eastward for the rest.

I have League Pass which is useless for local teams.

I always see people discussing ways around that, but then also that League Pass has gotten smarter about it.
