Tv ratings down 58% I wonder why

Because your a child?

Through the NBA Cup semifinals, which were played Saturday, viewership of NBA games for the league’s national partners — ESPN, ABC, and TNT — was down 19 percent over the same period last year, according to Sports Media Watch.

Silver’s acknowledgment was a little softer — he said “ratings are down a bit” — but pointed to a broader trend of “cable television viewership is down double digits.” Viewership is also down for men’s college basketball (21 percent), women’s college basketball (38 percent), and the NHL (28 percent), Sports Media Watch reported.

To grab the context and other things addressed read the short article. I have mentnmioed this before that streaming services account for ratings drop. Do we think PhilC got it right, or the heads of companies that bidder billions for broadcast rights?

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6002603...

Ratings are down 48% since 2012 and 25% this season alone. Now go back to celebrating the greatness of Elfrid Payton in the nba with another 75 paragraph essay.

I show you a quote a link that says 19%
Also cable tv demise has a lot to do with it. Revenue continues to climb. So they are getting paid.
all the leagues are down. You saw that?
Children have hissy fits when called out for making shit up.
again with the Elfrid Payton stuff? C'mon, are you that limited?

Losing makes u look slow and tired I guess... OKC just outscored BOS 29-12 in the 4th. They are unbeatable at home right now.

In a perfect world we'd cut their minutes by 1 or 2, but Mikal and Hart are ironmen who should be out there big minutes.

OG's health is always a concern but he's consistently been a 35/36mpg player for a while and he's not much higher than that this year.

Some guys are just injury prone and I don't believe playing them less really helps.

If 2-3 mins of rest wasn’t significant then every coach would play their guys 40 mins. I think 2 mins of rest in the second half of a game is significant in terms of energy and output while you’re on the court. When you play ball and are spent even 30 seconds means a lot. We’ve been having late game collapses, Brunson is making uncharacteristic sloppy turnovers, our shooting has been bad, lots of signs of fatigue and our starting lineup basically leads the league in minutes. Minutes policing in general has been overblown over the years but right now I don’t really think so.

Brunson's minutes havent even been high though, he's not even top 20 and is at less than last season. Not to mention lighter workload.

KAT's minutes havent been high either.

we're really talking about Mikal and Hart here if we're honest.

I think if there's any merit to guys being tired its more to do with the fact that our starters have pretty much played every game, which is sort of unheard of these days. Much more so than the MPG.

You just making things up now? Kat would be even higher if he did'nt have foul trouble so much.

again a product of KAT being healthy and playing almost every game. He's averaging 34.6mpg, nothing outlandish about that and right around his career mark.

Jokic is averaging 37.1mpg, he just hasn't played as many games.

You just gave a perfect example of why using minutes per game is bad when trying to calculate accumulated workload. I already know that, which is why I am pointing toward total minutes played. You are the one who keeps using minutes per game. You unknowingly just killed your own arguement.

I think all 5 guys are playing more than ideal. KAT seems OK for the most part. OG is brittle and we need Jalen fresh down the stretch as our closer. Your latter point about games played is a good one but probably more indicative of why they need to be spelled more throughout the games.

This goes beyond minutes though, from a pure basketball sense we need our bench to get into a rhythm and produce. We aren’t going anywhere with less than 10 bench points every night.

we've also had I believe the most road games in the NBA... going from that OKC game to CHI in less than 24 hours turnaround, I think any team would look a bit tired. that probably attributes to being tired much more than 1-2mpg more. Now we have a stretch where we are going to be home pretty much for about a month. I have a feeling we won't look so tired anymore.

Forget South Beach in Miami, The Plaza district in OKC with its microbreweries and country line dancing is sure to lure the young NBA men into a frenzy of nightlife that's sure to tire even the most elite athlete!!

OKC then Chicago, I bet no other team has road back to backs and is another red string attached to my bedroom walls that demonstrate Silver hate the knicks!

(all teams have road back to backs.)

Knicks and Indiana have played the most road games in the NBA and the Knicks are also in the top half of league for total games played (which stretches from 33 to ~36, Orlando outlier at 37).

Knicks also just played 6 games in 10 nights with 2 back-to-back and 5 of the 6 games were on the road.

They tired and bench is a hint depleted. They also 11-4 over the past 4 weeks. This seems normal.

Knicks are just behind the level of CLE and OKC.

KAT and Brunson both
