He's definitely fighting it right now.

Its all about Mitchell in the playoffs. We've seen this movie before.

Mitchell 3/16 and only 11 pts and Cavs still win. Broke their 15 game win streak. They are a force

It’s generally accepted (even by Oxford Dictionary) to allow substitution of ironically for coincidentally in common parlance. So, where strict grammar would suggest you should only use it when the context is the opposite of the literal meaning, it’s not really considered wrong to it instead of “coincidentally”.

Regardless, Clyde is a national treasure. Cant hate on his expressions.

Strus 5/6 and Dean 3/4 from 3. Gotta be able to out 3 point these teams. We are gonna need our 3pt shooters to stop looking like Stormtroopers from behind the line.

Yeah man, give Clyde some slack. How ironically of you.

Ty Jerome also continues to be major contributor off the bench. Always liked his game

Kat can never be called soft again. He was clearly not right and still had a great game.

If Kat had say Larry Bird's serious mindset all the time he'd be an all (all) time great offensive player.

He is SO TALENTED - such soft hands, soft touch and versatile offensive game (including vision/passing)

His primary issue are bouts of focus (lack of), carelessness with fouls and still some immaturity where he lets emotions get in the way.

Legit stud who is putting up awesome #s often with little help from Brunson who either ignores or misses him frequently.

Not sure about the origin of KAT being soft was. He was never a soft player at Kentucky or Minnesota. Underachieved a little bit yes but not soft

I think it was Jimmy Butler propaganda.

Hello all, I am new here, but Knicks fan since 90s :) ..... here is my first question to the group, what is the reason behind 3 points slump? i can understand a slump for a player, but i can't understand a slump for a team?!!

Some things are just contagious.

BigDaddyG probably has a bunch of stories he can tell.

Good win to stop the bleeding. KAT needs to stop grimacing and scaring the crap out of me but good to have him back. You can easily see how much easier out offense looks and functions with him out there. I trust the training staff and doctors wouldn't allow him to play if he were at risk for further injury too.

OG was a monster again against his former team. Good to see those 3s drop! Brunson still looks a little rusty and Bridges too is in a bit of a slump. Hart was typical Hart and kudos to him for reaching out to a zebra to find out about the technicals. Good minutes from Shamet and Precious but sucks how Payne fell off a cliff. We desperately need Deuce back! Congrats to Thibs on his 200th win as Knicks coach! Many complain about the starter minutes and I get it to a certain point but what choice do we really have? Our bench is extremely thin! I would all be for just throwing Kolek and Pacome out there for 5 minutes here and there and see what happens but it just doesn't seem to be in the gameplan right now. We have to hope Deuce comes back and stays healthy, Shamet continues to play well, Precious gives us some good rebounding and by some miracle Mitch comes back.

We get another crack at OKC tomorrow!

Not sure but it's probably a combo of things. Maybe the long road trip, holidays, weather, boredom.

We will def need Mitch against them.

There are some teams we play where there's a slow footed 5 and no nimble 4, and KAT basically is unstoppable. Toronto a fine example, where Poeltl is a stout player, but no match for KAT and they aren't bringing a sizable 4 who can match up either. Unless that team has it going from 3 and/or is pushing the pace on us, its hard to keep up.

BTW the team is really missing McBride. We're complaining a lot about the Bench over 4 games where McBride was missing, and he is obviously the biggest cog of our 2nd unit. Aside from being able to create some pressure and quicken the pace, he's our volume 3 point shooter with no hesitation. The Knicks have not only been missing them, but they've been reticent to even attempt them. We really need Deuce back as he's the closest thing we have to what DiVo gave us last year in terms of the volume - and that helps stretch the floor.

Toronto is a weird team - with IQ/RJ/Barnes healthy and even Brown back, they shouldn't be a total pushover, but they seem to be lacking a bit of desire/hustle. They lack depth, but in the 2nd half we really beat them to loose balls and muscled them around and they mostly folded. Only the brilliance of Boucher made the score seem respectable.

I haven't watched game. Is Shamet coming into form?
nycericanguy @ 1/9/2025 10:26 AM
TOR has some good young talent.

Barnes, RJ, IQ, Dick is a nice 4 to start building around, then they will be getting a high pick this year as well. They are tanking but they have a really bright future.

And yes we are really missing Duece, without him the bench is really thin. But if we get Mitch back our bench really will be solid. Mitch, Deuce, Payne, Precious, Shamet is 4-5 solid players off the bench. We really just need a big wing off the bench which is something we might have to wait til next year for.
