So first it was Bally Sports blacked out so no Charlotte Hornets or Hurricanes Games. I guess for you New Yorkers it's no MSG and Knicks. Now CBS is blacked out right as the football playoffs begin. Looks like the CW is also gone but who cares they have shit programming
WTF does Altice Optimum want? Are they trying to push everybody to stream? My internet is terrible. I live in a Historic district while everyone around me gets fiber optic I'm stuck with slow glitchy wifi. I prefer cable but now they are starting to piss me off
Ok its possible that Nexstar doesn't affect people up north
We’ve worked tirelessly on your behalf to reach an agreement with Nexstar, which owns and/or operates several broadcast network affiliated channels in various locations such as ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS and CW affiliated stations, as well as NewsNation. However, they’ve refused to offer a deal that is fair for our customers. As a result, we no longer carry their channels.Fortunately, you can watch Nexstar content on Fubo.

Good. I am glad. I think MSG was getting $10 per subscriber from Altice, which when they were owned Dolans, I guess was just a way to play around with money. But, that is an insane part of a cable bill for such a small amount of programming.
Luckily I have FUBO and still am getting the channels.
Mind you, FUBO is not cheap by comparison - I think the only benefit vs. cable is the ability to stream on any device anywhere.
Fubo is what 75 bucks per month? Are there any blackout restrictions? I think it might be worth killing cable for FUBO as i only use cable to watch the Knicks and Yankees

I think MSG/Yes is trying to push people like you to Gotham Sports Network. $360 a year for MSG and Yes directly from them.
For those in NYC and surrounding, League pass is blocked out?
In North Carolina I don't get Fox sports south thru my YouTube TV and quite frankly I never evan checked to see if I get Hornets gams on League pass. When knicks play them, I either got to the game but if in MSG, Its blocked out until a few hours after the game ends.
I don't have to see every game.
YoutubeTV is wonderful. 5 years ago it was 49.99. now its 82.99. Price went up. I'll rethink this all after the season. My league pass DVR's really great. Less glitchy this year than in the past. Its expensive but it delivers great picture quality on my big tv, or streams on my Phone.
League Pass blackout for Knicks games is 3 days.
Hard to avoid scores for 3 days.

But FUBO Carries MSG right?

Yes - at least if you are in this area - I don’t know it’s where you are - I know when I travel - I get MSG when i stream.
I think Optimum’s model is to charge as much as they feel they possibly can, and make getting support time consuming and frustrating.
If you have the patience and fortitude to call and cancel, partially or fully, their retention department starts throwing multi-year promotions and discounts at you.

Ah yeah, I'm in NYC and trying to figure out whether FUBO is a better deal for me than FIOS TV service. Honestly the price isnt even really that different and subscribing to MSG via FIOS gives you the option of using Gotham Sports whenever you are on the road.
I don't watch any cable channel other than MSG, YES or TNT/ESPN for national TV games, but the way TV is these days, there's only rising costs and no good deals.
I would just buy Gotham Sports alone since I get ESPN via the Disney+ package (would need to figure out TNT but I think you can get it one of the streamers) but its too unreliable.

HBOMax gets you TNT. Which - when you factor in all the services we end up streaming- your paying far more than when you had linear cable- the difference that makes it slightly acceptable is like the ability to stream anywhere any device vs. just having it attached on one tv or paying extra for extra tvs in your house.
Yeah its absurd im paying for HBO Max, Disney+/Hulu/ESPN bundle, Netflix, Amazon Prime....finally canceled Apple. Then Verizon cable and god knows what else. Its hard to even keep track of. There must be some way to get it for less than what I'm paying but the effort to figure it out is absurd.

Get a family member to give you their logins lol
Each of these streaming services tries to string you along with just enough content. And in many cases, crap content.
I'm done having lots of subscriptions. I'll join a service for a month and binge. Then cancel it. But only if the content got good reviews.
I canceled Hulu, Disney, Paramount, and Apple... and ooh baby it felt phenomenal.

Hopefully you reinvested in PornHub Platinum, worth it!

It's about trade offs. I live in a state where Knicks games aren't blacked out on the NBA app. But I also can't watch porn w/o a VPN due dumb laws that prevent me from giving up porn with submitting way to identifying info for registration purposes. I'd rather blow my money on whores.

Hold on, I obviously have a few levels to unlock.
Anybody have Fios, and unhappy?
Yhe greed of these teams and networks are something. Years ago I was a serious life long Yankee fan. I used to got to games every two weeks with my wife in the old stadium. Then I got priced out of the new Stadium. Then I switched to streaming and the Yankees, Yes Network, kept leaving streaming platforms and I just completely stopped watching any games. I watched one game in the last 4 seasons, I no longer care. I don't think I'm the only one and if the Knicks games go the same way, I will utterly lose interest. If they don't care about me I won't care about them. Don't be too attached to anything except your loved ones.
