https://nypost.com/2025/01/30/sports/nba...Boucher mentions keep picking up in relation to the Knicks. He had a completely electric garbage time against us a few weeks ago where he showed off his full skills package. He is kind of a head case, but he actually some talent. Can shoot it a bit, is athletic, can get some blocks and steals. I think his effort can be uneven and he seems to be in and out of the rotation.
A few things working in his favor
1) He's healthy, and Mitch isn't.
2) can stretch the floor a bit
3) Is on an expiring 11mm salary - so either you let him go or can probably re-sign him for less than Mitch so he gives you more apron space and allows you to use the Taxpayer MLE (the 5mm one)
4) He is apparently best friends with OG.
Thoughts on the Waterboy?
Raptors South or something
Unlike most years where rumors are fun, I find most annoying, very inaccurate and unworthy clickbait.
This one is at least possible. At 6-9 and 200 lbs listed I doubt he can hold the 5 spot. Would they want mitch?
I don't know. Whats our need? Back up at the 4 or 5? Kind of both it seems. Sims is toast after this year anyway.
Boucher took Precious spot, and would have to acquiesce to the way of the Thibian. Not all players can do that or want to. Reddish was one example of him that was exiled for adherence. I don't know enough about him.
Never been a big fan. Not really physical on D. I guess it all depends on what they'd have to give up
Saw a report that the Raps are open to moving Poetl. A Mitch trade could give them a solid option at a lower salart while the tank continues to roll. I wouldn't do that deal the title window is now and time is of the essence.
MitchRob for Boucher/Agbaji works on the RealGM trade checker. Agbaji is still on his rookie deal and is on a club option next year.
Gimme that Boucher in garbage time for the Knicks cut. He brought the whole bag that night. Cut the 30 point lead to 14.
Btw Begley interview on KFS today - he thinks more than likely move Sims for a 2 but the Mitch situation remains unclear.

So they're practically giving Sims away (I assume it's for a heavily protected 2nd) and they still can find any takers?

They make more combined than Mitch I think. So they would have to add a contract to it. Agbaji would be awesome as a backup wing. I’d be a big fan. As far as a Mitch for Boucher deal, it would be done to have a healthier but less effective player and open up more flexibility in the summer. So it depends on the end goal.
I mean, if a 3way with Sims to Cha, Robinson to Toronto and Boucher and Agbaji to NY could happen, I’d drop the Wiz pick and other draft consideration immediately and pull that trigger. It also clears a mill of cap space.
Agbaji has a 6’10 wingspan, shoots 41% from 3 this year and plays as an athletic wing. Boucher is an athletic player with a 7’4 wingspan and is shooting 37% from 3 on 8 attempts per game this year.
That second unit would be defensive dogs that play athletic and can shoot above average from 3.
Put Okeke in the last roster spot and you have a playoff roster that looks like it is balanced and ready to go on a run.
This makes too much sense for us.
Brunson / Payne / Kolek
Hart / McBride / Shamet
Bridges / Agbaji / Dadiet
OG / Achiuwa / Okeke
KAT / Boucher / Huk
I would love minor acquisitions like this. I think this team is good enough where chemistry is the single most important factor. That doesn't really matter as much when you are running Chris Duhon at that point. I would also really like looking at adding another bench piece that's boys with KAT. In my head, the entire tea gets together on their off night, orders pizza, and plays Golden Eye until 3am

Interesting trade.
Toronto have incentive to move Agbaji? Don't know much about him

He went from Cleveland to Utah as part of the Spida trade as a brand new draft pick. Utah quit on him in his second season - trading him for the 29th pick in the last draft. He’s having a “breakout” season - better than his prior years. Not enough track record of performing to significantly improve his value. By replacing the 29th pick with the mystery pick that is Washington and the Mitch Robinson trade value, it’s possible we are overpaying here. But it kind of works in a 2 year look sense to lock in our salaries for next year - Payne, Shamet and Precious being the only uncertainties in that instance. Meaning we could probably re-sign our existing players without worrying about about hard caps (maybe?)
I agree Ogbaji is good and young - deosn't feel like they would dump him to us but who knows. Trading Boucher on an expiring makes sense to deal- they roll him into a different center/salary/piece. You'd have to sweeten the pot for Ogbaji.
Boucher definitely is talented offensively. He can possibly stretch the floor and let you play 5 out all game. While he has length I think the defensive/intensity and rebounding is inconsistent. Back when we got Precious I was kind of mad we didn't get Boucher in that deal instead, b/c we needed a backup center at the time of that trade and I rated Boucher ahead of Precious. I think I was wrong about that, but Boucher is still an intriguing guy.

Have you seen Sims play? lol
Potentially a look at Boucher (and Agbaji) tonight.
Also Raptors have won 6/7 and 8/10 recently, so don't look now, but this a tough game.

Boucher listed as questionable with an illness. Bruce Brown also questionable. The 2 guys they are most likely to deal.
