They just got much better
Cavs going all in, as they should.
Too bad we are so limited.
The Atlanta Hawks are trading forward De'Andre Hunter to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Caris LeVert, Georges Niang, three second-round picks and two swaps, sources tell ESPN. pic.twitter.com/5fpE4LJzpK
That's a killer for us, Hunter really completes that team with a plus Wing defender+knockdown 3 pt shooter who is better than levert/Okoro. I cant believe the Hawks didnt get a first round pick for him. Thats crazy.
always liked and wanted Hunter... great deal getting him for 3 second rounders.

wow... he really helps them.
I would say if you have to make a move as Cle that ensures you the best shot of beating Bos/NY to get to the finals it would be getting Hunter.
That being said doesnt your crunch time line ups still include Garland/Mitchell? I like how Brunson/Bridges match up there... Brunson has had a history of success vs. Donovan and I like Mikal on Garland

Yeah I don’t get it

Yes and no. We got chips to push in the middle, the question is it smart and does it get you there and leave you with deficits.
The money is an issue, but it was for Cavs. Mitch and Deuce get you places. But do you?
Lavert and Niang with picks and swaps. Hunter always been a good player but his injuries were the issue.
Good trade for Clev.
When you think about the Cavs, the missing piece has been a true 3 who can defend the perimeter and knock down 3s and they just acquired the prototype. Okoro wasn't guy, Levert wasn't really the defender...Hunter is the best of Okoro and Levert rolled into one.

i always liked Caris but Hunter is very good (when not injured) and should be a great fit

Yep

I think Mikal might be on Donovan; at least that's how i would play it
I still think they'll have vulnerability in a series (or maybe it's more hoping than thinking) but they are now much better. weakness turned to a strength

Hunter does make OG look like Mikal though, injury wise
And FWIW i can envision a Mitch/KAT tandem against Clevland which could be crazy. We will literally get all of the rebounds -- every one.

When the Knicks beat the Cavs 2 yrs ago, we could rotate off Okoro in the corner and the guy just couldn't knock down shots. Its not the same story with Hunter. Cavs also have waves of good shooters on the bench like Jerome, Merrill and Strus. Far cry from throwing out Cedi Osman and Okoro on Brunson and then not having shooting on the other end.

ITs like Mitch is a modern Willis Reed. He just walk out and Cav's start twitching?
Hunter is no iron man, but this makes the Bridges trade an all time overpay. Especially with all the movement right now, folks are not being moved for premiums.
Was not worried about Cavs prior to this move. That’s a lot of height in the lineup now.
This is a big time upgrade and move for Cleveland. Their bench is just at another level now.
But LaVert also gave us fits when we played them.
