"Net negative player"
Or early when it was thought his hand was in need of surgery?
Fans are impatient. Its the nature of things.
Frustration over his hand was fair. As it looked like something could have had that taken care of in the offseason. But to have called him a net negative player after putting up basically 14-10-6 52%-33%-78% as the starting SG. With all-star caliber advanced metrics.
That's not a lack of patience. Its a lack of logic.
He was out a lot of preseason and needed time for his rhythm. He needed also to get his game conditioning set.
To insinute his hand was the issue with certainty without knowledge was silly.
Stick your neck out on it and own it.
We all wrong from time to time. Its no big deal. Except for children.

Anyone who had frustration over his hand was fair. Even if it turned out to be wrong it was backed up by sound reasoning. He shot poorly from 3 in the playoffs displaying no confidence. Only to have a hand issue spring up right before the season started.
I'm speaking on prior to that. When he was called a net negative empty stat player after the playoffs. This lacked that same sound reasoning.
Remember when Jared Dudley was the ultimate glue guy because he did a bit of everything on the court?
Josh is Jared Dudley on steroids + whatever the Hulk was taking, with a side of Lamar Odom.

And a shot!
I think we are REALLY missing Josh.
I really think he is more important to this team than any of Mikal, OG or KAT.

Yes
Read a great article and I don’t know if I posted it, from Fred Katz I think within the last weeks.
Rebounding is defense when it ends an opponent’s possession.
Rebounding is also offense when it gets you an extra possession and shot.
That was the gist of article.

Yeah, he's not going to win MIP. I just didn't want to start a new thread to say how valuable he is to this team.
If there was a Glue Guy of the Year award, he'd be in the running for that.
Josh is missed, Towns is still off, and Mikal kind of has fallen a bit. And here we were worried about Diawa contract after this year!
3 game losing streak is not cool. Knicks are playing better competiation these games. Philly is no a pushover. ATL? They were off to pretty good start then fell back. They good or settling into their rightful place?
We forget standing toe to to with Jokic and Giannis was Embiid two years ago.
Anyone still think Josh was just "empty stats"?
Dude is the connective tissue of this team.
