With some of the reserves stepping up the last few games, with Robinson getting more minutes, Brunson and the other point guards coming back from injuries who do you think should be included in the rotation in each position and how the minutes will be distributed come playoffs time? Personally I see Robinson playing around 25 minutes, with Towns playing around 35 (10 at PF). Brunson around 35 at PG with Payne getting the rest. Hart, Anynoby, Bridges between 35-38, with Mcbride playing around 20 and Shamet 10-15. I would like to see Kolek playing a few minutes but I know its not going to happen. Achiuwa showed that he is entitle to some minutes also but I believe he will be out of the rotation. I am assuming here that everybody is healthy.

I think you nailed it.
I think the xfactor is McBride. If he's healthy and effective he can play more... 27mpg in last years playoffs.
I would not be surprised if Wright replaced Cam for the 8-12 minutes available at backup PG
Robinson gets 20-25, McBride 25-30 and Payne maybe 10-15. Shamet may not get mins at all...
Also is Payne even gonna be healthy for the first round?
I would not be surprised to see Wright get some minutes. He's 6'5" can handle, can defend and is steady. He's a Thibs player. Personally, I'd play him in front of Payne.
The rotation in the playoffs is pretty straight forward. All starters will play 38-40 mpg. Payne would play the direct backup to Brunson minutes (8-10 mins). Mitch and Deuce will play the backup minutes at the other 4 positions which would amount to about 18-20 mpg each. You may be able to get them a few more minutes when they are rolling, but that’s probably your average based on minutes available.
I've seen enough out of Wright to know he should be our backup PG going forward. Payne is good at what he does, but Wright is a better fit for us off the bench. Much steadier. I don't think it's a coincidence that all of our wings are thriving right now including Shamet.

I was totally wrong about him. Very happy to eat some crow there. His D and that 3 is legit. Doesn't turn the ball over and rebounds some too. Shamet tho is proving me right. When everyone was down on him, his D is top notch and now with his shooting..... Thibs has his work with minutes cut out for himself. It's a good problem to have
It's going to be 8 deep like most teams do if we are 100% healthy. So Brunson, Bridges, Hart, OG, KAT, Mitch, Shamet and Payne. Maybe Precious and Wright depending on foul trouble or match up's. But I'd be shocked if we see Kolek in big spots.
I think you saw tonite a 9 man rotation that might be.
Shamet gets 10-15 min if he keeps shooting like he has.

Deuce? Is loose?
As others said, tonight was the playoff rotation and mins.
Mitch
Payne
Deuce
Shamet
They all got 13-16 mins. This is our playoff bench. Bench Mins might be a little lower come playoff time.

Or dependent on matchup, in which case, Precious may play.

WIth the durability concerns of KAT and Mitch he needs to stay ready. There may be situational defensive possessions where both him and Delon could be on the floor for their switchability. Remember Thibs even used Frank N. for single possessions in the 2020/21 playoffs.
Biggest question to be is if Shamet stays in the rotation. Right now they way he is shooting, he should. But Thibs may go to 8 guys.
man if McBride is really a 100% that's a huge one for us. His knee has not been right and finally when he started showing some spring the groin but maybe this extra rest gets him there.
If he's really a 100% he gets 30mins a game off the bench and chews into Payne's minutes and possible Shamets. It will take some really bad shooting for him to play less (if he's 100%)
What is 48 minutes divided by 7 players?
Kind of joking --- hope Thibs at very minimum goes with 8 --- maybe 9.
I just hope he benches guys who play stupid (see Kat/Josh) or don't play D (see same 2 guys).

Alex, what is Thibs regular season rotation?
For those that want to find a reason to blame a coach, they will.
Larry Brown coached for 30 years. Won an NCAA but took until he was 63 before he won an NBA chip with Detroit.
Long stood career and a real pain in the ass dude.
Maybe Thibs is on a similar path.
If we don't break thru we will second guess him.
Or the players.
or Leon.
Or maybe there are just better teams out there?
Roll out the death lineup

Been saying all along its not Josh for Deuce is Mikal for Deuce.
Anyway you dont need to touch the SL but giving Mikal no.1 scoring ability for the bench unit and assing Deuce as a 2nd ball handler, shooter and POA defender to the core starting group is an upgrade on lineup diversity (even if Mikal in a vacuum is much better than Deuce).

What does that stat mean for resigning Mikal?
