If we exit early in the 1st round it might be time to move on from Thibs. His substitution patterns have been questionable.

And put JB on who? He can’t guard most NBA scorers.

We do this in the playoffs and Hart is not hitting them shots we coming home fast.

This may be our biggest problem because not only does he hurt us offensively he has been atrocious defensively.

His style of play results in fun/aggressive plays that excite but mixed in are bad TOs, collapsed defenses, losing guys on cuts and simply getting killed off the dribble.

Thibs isn't cutting his minutes (mistake #1) so we have to hope Hart wakes the hell up - starts to respect the basketball and actually stands up and guards his defensive assignment.

Hart has basically sacrificed solid offensive/defensive play to chase his own rebound/assist stats that are gaining him personal notoriety.

Hart has been brutal and the on/off stats show it.

Deuce has been mediocre at best. Payne is maligned yet has team best +/- and Hart I believe the worst.

If you watch the actual shots Deuce/Cam always have guys attacking/contesting their shots while Josh defenders sync into paint.

If we kept Devo and moved Hart we'd be much better!

It's pretty crazy that good teams can guard us 1 on 1 except for Towns without any issues. Our switch heavy defense gets us in very bad match ups and ofter results in wide open 3's. I hate to say it but it's probably time for a coaching change. It's to bad that Thibs just signed a long new contract and is attached at the hip to Rose who is his agent. If Thibs is fired it would have to come down from ownership who has been hands off with good success.

A first round sweeps is not impossible and would start a total shit storm in the offseason. I don't think we can get past Detroit in the 1st rd. Maybe we can win 2 games and make it interesting

Anyone not torching and punking us then gloating after the game on our floor. Garland going off shifted and sealed the game for them. The other night Thibs took Mikal off Tatum for OG and despite that pull back 3, OG played him well. I think he was tired.

Also you can't have Precious/Hart and say Mitch on the floor at the same time against elite teams that can light it up. That is 3 players not looking to score or forced to get aggressive with low % shots.

Actually, we don't switch enough....The 2 straight 3's by Struss wore because Brunson helped (on the screen) and tried to recover back Struss but was too late to get a good contest on Stuss's 3s. This was not a good strategy by Thibs because the only way a player like Struss can hurt you is if you give him an open 3 and thats exactly what we did. Twice! If we would have simply switched it, we would have Garland and Brunson one on one. At worse, we give up a 2 by forcing Garland to make a play.

Thibs philosophy is the same as it was years ago...give up the 3 rather than a 2...

I'll close with this, are the Knicks playing without heart & pride this year? Could they be holding back for the playoffs? Or more likely, shit coaching adjustments, poor offensive & defensive schemes, and minutes are catching up?

Passes have been sloppy, low IQ, and telegraphed. Those rebounds we used to get, too often we don't. Poor execution or plans after timeouts. Long periods of no scoring and shot clock violations, missed free throws. Dumb D switches on picks. Can't stop anyone at the rim and when they luckily miss the opponent is usually there for any easy tip in. Too much complaining.

In the end, I think some will be surprised when we beat the Pistons when it counts, however this style of play leads to another 2nd rd exit. But this is not unexpected by those who know the game and understand this is a tier 2 team, 1 or 2 depth pieces away and hopefully a new coach.

If this team truly wanted a win and not back it's way into the 3rd seed, hey coach, play everyone at Detroit then rest everyone vs the Cavs. But no, let's spring training these games with staggered lineups. And I don't care if playing full strength give the Pistons any insight, it was a chance to send a message and they failed.

Let's go Knicks.
