Yes. Early in the year there were times when Brunson played with Payne and it was very effective. We didnt use that lineup at all over the last 40 games - and then we used it tonight and had the best quarter of the season.

Im not taking about OG enough. He eliminated Cade. Unbelievable defense.

Great win. Erased many bad quarters against DET this year with just one 4th quarter onslaught. Pistons are in a tough position now after losing that one despite out playing us pretty badly and having us on the ropes. Payne's minutes obviously changed the game for us, Thibs sticking with him all year long really paid dividends. Guy is fearless. KAT had some bad moments on D but when it was time to make a run he was huge. I thought the extended run with Mitch/KAT in the first half was interesting, most likely due to Hart's foul trouble but I think Thibs held back on showing too much of this in the regular season because he wanted to utilize it more in the playoffs. I also think OG on Cade was something he held back in the regular season. I do think the "big" lineup led to us giving up a million 3s to Tobias and Beasley in the first half so I'm not sure it's something we immediately see much more of going forward, although overall we held a lead during those minutes.

I do wonder what the Knicks think of the Brunson-KAT dynamic. Both are obviously great players but both are also somewhere between below average and horrendous defenders. Can their collective offensive greatness overcome what they give up on defense? Playing 3 vs 5 defensively ain’t gonna cut it against top level teams.
And additionally, how do you overcome the ball pressure against Brunson? He just doesn’t have that game like Kyrie and especially so when he is hobbling a bit. Josh, Mikal, OG, Deuce collectively don’t seem good enough. Cam was good enough in the 4th but is that really good enough against better teams?

I said it since last year. One of the best things the Knicks have done is welcome Marbury back into the family.
People(me included) love Quick but this is true. He did disappear every time in the playoffs.
