Clearly we need to play faster somehow. The issue was when we slowed down the offense. How do we give Brunson support and get the ball up quick on every posession?

Oh wow, it was a super smart play then. Nice
This was a really good game by Hart.
He sparked a good offensive start with a lot of assists.
He made some big offensive rebounds including a huge putback and buzzer beater to end the third.
I thought he did a fantastic job when he got switched onto Cade and has generally held up well in this role all series.

WHat's up with OG's hands? Are they made of stone? How many times did he cough it up tonight?

How would Schroeder type look on the Knicks? 7 second half assists, Pistons played the same that half, we just have not played well in the 3rd and some 4th quarters. Why not take it to Duren with 5 FOULS? Just dumb coaching, again.BENCH outscored 40 to 9. With refs punking us and no bench, this is not much different than last year. Not deep enough to be a contender.
Duren not fouling out saved the game. He made 2 bonehead turnovers that cost them
We don't have any player long and athletic like Duran. Too bad we traded that pick in a salary dump.

2 thumbs up and a few inches too. I fell asleep during the game and missed it. Old man energy !Had I only had seen this picture pre game.

Yeah, such a waste. Remind me who we even brought in with that salary space?

A salary dump so we can free enough space to sign Brunson and iHart? Pistons can take his bone headed long athletic ass
LET'S FUCKING GO!!!!! I said before this was going to test the character and toughness of this team, especially two specific players, and I'm beyond proud of how they answered the call and responded!
Hat's off to KAT! He played his heart out and just dominated after that embarrassing game two. Displayed his entire arsenal and great job by Thibs and Cap for making some adjustments and getting him the ball! Loved how we make the effort to find him as a trailer on those threes! And of course, they got nobody who can guard him one on one. That baseline fadeaway was huge! He also had one of his best games defensively, including that clutch block on Cunningham late in the game that led to the Cap's layup! But the highlight for me was KAT having Mitch's back and shoving Paul Reed! That's exactly what we needed! DO NOT GET PUNKED!!
Hat's off to Bridges too! Played an all around game and was everywhere defensively! 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks! My only complaint was him not showing more dawg in him when he got into it with Hardaway Jr. and also he didn't say anything when Schroder did his celebration. But it is what it is and he's not a dawg. That's fine as long as he plays well and he was outstanding last night!
The Cap was Captain Clutch once again. Made all the big shots down the stretch (10 points in final 5 minutes) but it was weird seeing him get the Trae Young treatment but kudos to the Pistons crowd cause that's what a road playoff game should sound like! Cap had a much better game as a facilitator with 9 assists and only 1 turnover. OG was also fantastic! Bounced back defensively and made it difficult again for Cunningham forcing him into tough midrange shots. Cunningham shot 10/25 which you take every single time! Hart was everywhere. His motor was insane! Almost ended up with another triple double 6/11/9.
Bench was meh once again. Deuce continues to struggle but Payne bounced back and provided a spark in the 2nd. Mitch wasn't great and lost some rebounds and Shamet was a donut once again. I wonder if Thibs is thinking of giving Wright a chance over Shamet. I would.
Thibs had a good game. Team was ready and prepared and never panicked when Pistons made their run and got it close late. Loved the adjustment to get KAT the ball! The team was also more focused and didn't spend half the game arguing with the zebras. Team shot 26/29 from the line!
I was going to give the zebras their kudos too cause I thought they called it tight but fair but that end of the game with the shot clock malfunction giving the Pistons a chance to tie or win the game was bullshit! I was petrified and thought something crazy was going to happen but thankfully that dummy Bickerstaff had Duren as the inbound passer.
IMO a big strong dude like Duran that has a little bit of ball skills who can play 25mpg and play next to Towns a bunch is exactly what we need to find for next year along with some better bench help (which might already be on the roster with Pacome and Kolek). Love Mitch but he's not the answer, clearly we need someone who can catch the ball and move it around just a little bit on offense. Maybe we finally get Walker Kessler over here. I think were at the point where you can trade McBride for him if you have to.
VDesai wrote:Clearly we need to play faster somehow. The issue was when we slowed down the offense. How do we give Brunson support and get the ball up quick on every posession?
When we started the 3rd quarter I started getting PTSD of game 2. Brunson walking it up, playing at a snails pace, the backcourt violation etc. IMO this mostly falls on him. His first instinct is to play a 100 ft game of iso. When he brings it up and shares it around it naturally gets everyone touches and they are able to create opportunities. DET does not have enough weapons to beat us when everyone is contributing and we saw it last night down the stretch. Bridges, KAT, all hit huge shots in the clutch and Brunson still was able to dominate and do his thing. When things get stagnant, letting Bridges cook on Shroeder or Hardaway has to be something we go to down the stretch.

Honestly if this is the rule this was one of the greatest no-calls I've seen. Whether it was not called on purpose or not IDK but if it was, a ridiculously good no call by the ref in heat of the moment.

OG doesn't have great handles or finesse to his game but despite that he finds a way to be super effective as a scorer so I give him credit for that.
We need donte back
His shooting and fire would be a great add
3 years ago we gave the pick to get Brunson, we had Mitch. 3 years ago he was not always broken.
Then we got iHart. Duran needed a few years as he was just 18 when drafted.
Context.
Detroit finished the season as noted 44-30 after a rough start and plays us well. They play hard and we countered with toughness and clutch play. We took control of the game early. Kat was awesome. Mitch was effective. OG was tasked and had a really good game.
Durans dumb jump ball? Admit it, most of us was thinking the dumb ass was gonna do what the did. They were so intent on boxing out knicks the ball went out of bounds. Some good home cooking there. I guess there should have been a jump ball? I was more concerned about a foul than a freaky shot. But .5 to go is still a real low probability. Knicks took the series back!

Just hate that the NFL draft will also be going on. Fingers crossed my GMen make a good pick at 3 and whatever QB they trade up for is the long time answer.
Fuck Tobias Harris and the horse he rode in on. He was a non-factor in all the Philly games last year, and he's going to be a non-factor again tonight. Calling out: Towns, OG, and Brickages. Show up for this must-win, or ship out!
Tobias Harris back to his role of ineffectiveness. 5 points on 2 of 9, 5 fouls.

To me it was his legs not his hands (Mitch had a hands issue last night). OG when fatigued loses his balance going to the basket. Another thing is he doesn't head fake or go to the body so gets blocked. Late in the year he finished into contact and was getting whistles and and one calls. He seemed to forget how to do it last night. Still I thought first half OG was vital and he spurred the massive 2nd q run after the Pistons briefly took the lead. Cade was 10/25 or something and pretty shitty compared to Game 2, so I am gonna give OG a lot of credit.
Brunson is struggling with the 3 right now, but the 4th q / late game scoring is on point. Id like to see him beat the press better and start the offense faster, but he was far better than Game 2. 9 assists last night. Absolutely phenomenal pass to set up a big Bridges 3 in the 4th from a difficult spot on the court.
Schroeder is getting a way with a lot of fouling on the full court pressure. They let Indiana do the same shit against him last year after Carlisle cried like a baby at every press conference. Its happening again with Crying Bitcherstaff. I respect coaches that are less whiny bitches. I cant believe the refs let him clap in their faces and bitch at them all game.
