SO TRUE - the entire year something was missing (we were finesse/soft) and bingo we found something.
My pessimistic side says never underestimate the heart of a champion --- so 2 more to go BUT just miraculous wins.
Pistons forced this team to find a gear we didn’t know they had. Maybe they didn’t even know they had it.
So now we wait to see if the Boston District Attorney files Grand Larceny charges against Mikal Bridges...
Thunder had quite a 1st half. 87 points. Yikes!
Celtics Reddit are calling for a Mazzula firing! 🤣

great pic. also raises a question I had. was Tatum looking to pass the ball out, or was he turned like that through sheer force of Mikal's block
I thought in real time he was trying to pass out
OG bad offensive game, had 2 big shots taken away, but such a masterclass defensively.
Mitch a true force.
Mikal....one of the most confusing Knicks ever. Having an 0/8 night then heats up and goes 6/10 for 14 pts and another game sealing steal. Heroic both nights.
KAT with a forceful 21 and 17
And its Josh Hart who leads the team in scoring and makes 3 threes.

Rename the Fire Thibs thread and let them have at it?
Mitch being +32 in a series when we are only outscoring them by 4 points is legendary.
He was being hacked not so he could take FT, but so that he would be taken out of the game.

Sigh, Denver trying to 1-up the Knicks and come back from down 30. Losers. Always needing the spotlight.

OG is a brick wall. Tatum probably turned when he tries to kick him. Another Boston offensive foul missed by the refs

they simply stuck with things that did not work. Josh Hart wont beat us. Keep shooting if you get KAT/Brunson on a switch. over and over... it was wild. We kept switching and challenging their jumpers and they just kept taking them. Great. It seemed like Thibs called all the right pitches. We fell behind with Brunson and Bridges combining for like 4 points in the first half. Got no scoring from OG. But every guy had huge moments and with McBride and Mitch playing well again we have a legit 7 guys who are ALL on the same page and it's nasty man
Promises given promises kept?

mikal. no contest. he stepped up and had that key stretch. then of course the last play
Tonight was the epitome of a TEAM WIN. I didn't see any stars but different guys just making key plays on both ends.
Looking at box score and good ole FT Mitch was +19 and next closest guy was Deuce at +9.
agree 100% everyone contributed. but IMO that stretch by Mikal was everything. JB and KAT were on the bench for most of it. you had Mitch McBride Hart OG. they needed Mikal to score and he was on fire. hit nearly everything and then the cavalry came in and holy hell what a finish. it was like the Pacers last night.
We stole victory from the jaws of defeat (is that how that saying goes?)
fuck yeah!
and OG's dunk was an offensive foul but it was critical. We weren't hanging our heads content with a split.

these guys are reminding me of Larry Brown's Pistons.
Mazzula just deciding to put his team in penalty with 3 straight fouls just to let us sub Mitch out was hilarious

Coming off the bench could be a role the FO sees for Mitch. They tried to move him, but KAT's defensive shortcomings made Mitch valuable. And I think a bench role might keep him playing.
We all know what OG was thinking, “oh look, a guy who dribbles like me, easy steal”
BigDaddyG wrote:Celtics Reddit are calling for a Mazzula firing! 🤣
total meltdown. Zero hope. Im here for all of it

Needs to upgrade his associate head coach? Probably?
martin wrote:We all know what OG was thinking, “oh look, a guy who dribbles like me, easy steal”
Mikal showed him the blueprint in game 1.

all my friends are Boston fans. they want to drag him through the streets by his heels
not that I understand the concepts but others here will. they're saying Boston should be cutting more. We're switching and being aggressive with help defense if the player drives. These guys are saying Celts should be cutting at that moment
I know in his first season they hated Mazz because he never seemed to know when to call timeout or make substitutions
that said he's supposedly very good at BJJ
