Knicks · Jason Tatum Had Surgery for Torn Achilles (page 1)

TheGame @ 5/13/2025 4:53 PM
He had surgery today and is out for the playoffs.
VDesai @ 5/13/2025 5:05 PM
He is probably out next year too.

Boston already was gonna be over the apron and far over the tax. They would have had to trade Holiday or Porzingis at minimum.

Is there a world where Boston might deal Tatum and someone takes a 1 year wait on him?

EwingsGlass @ 5/13/2025 5:05 PM
Tatum is actually underrated in my opinion. I wish him well and a speedy recovery.

I was thinking a Giannis trade might make sense. But if it were me, I’d offer Brown for Giannis and hold onto Tatum. Tatum is the franchise. It’s a 10 year play, not a 1 year.

I think the Bucks are going to rebuild if they trade Giannis.Brown wouldn't make sense from that standpoint.Nice player, but he's in his late 20s and probably not a guy to build a franchise around. To be honest, I don't even think Tatum gets it done.

The Bucks will be rebuilding if they move Giannis. Why would they take back a 30+ year old Brown unless they were in win now mode. Bucks will deal Giannis to a team like the Spurs for younger players and picks....maybe even the #2 overall. Pair him with Wemby and Fox or Castle.....and compete for a Chip.

If I'm the Bucks, I'm asking for Castle AND Vassel at the bare minimum in any package. Maybe the rights to Wemby's first born son.

Who would Spurs include to make salaries match?

I know they just traded for DeAron... But it is Giannis we're talking about

That sucks, wish Tatum a speedy recovery.
ToddTT @ 5/13/2025 9:30 PM
I always thought he was overrated. Last night he was absolutely hooping though.

I had this sinking feeling he was going to hit a few more threes and ruin our night.

How fortunes change…

He’s the best two way player in the nba. I got called a retarded person on another messageboard for saying the Knicks should trade Porzingis for him in 2017 when Phil was shopping him. Turns out Celts offered Jaylen Brown and another pick but hey
