We've been here during the dark dark days.
We debated whether Alonzo Trier was the next coming.
We thought Michael Sweetney was a key piece.
We put our hopes in the corpses of Tracy McGrady, Chauncey Billups, Raymond Felton, and Kemba Walker.
The biggest highlight was Jeremy Linsanity.
I've been here longer than I though possible.
NOW WE ARE LEGIT!!!!!
Every fan who endured these dark times should be feeling like a huge weight is off their shoulders! Enjoy every moment of this run, win or lose. This is just year 1 of our rise. LET's GOOOO!!
And shoutout to UK admin for keeping this site up through all the eras of the internet!
Next up:
I really thought they were gonna send Sweetney to fat camp and he was gonna come back a star
Who can forget the Wilson Chandler Gallo debates! Had this board divded for sure. Also, how many posters thought Alexey Schved would be the pg savior
Idiots who liked the Mo Taylor trade man up!!!
I even enjoyed following the team in the dark days, apart from one or two stretches- some of the drama was funny in retrospect, and I was always able to delude myself that the bum young players were actually promising!
The Decision - when Lebron took his talents to Miami. All the FA’s who faked like they wanted NY only to sign elsewhere giving us the okey doke to get their salaries up. Still, I enjoyed all those years
The team with the corpses of Rasheed and J Kidd is still one of the most fun seasons. BALL DONT LIE!!!
Maciej Lampe, the steal of the draft, projected to go top-5 and whom we got in the 2nd round… really turned this franchise around. I’ve always said this !
I was in NY that summer and asked the NBA store on 5th avenue why they didn’t have his jersey in store
I thought Eddy Curry was going to be an all star. And thought LeBron was coming.
Frederic Weis over Artest baby!
Larry Brown: I quit this s#hit!!!" You are not a basketball player, and neither are you nor you." What are you doing out here , get your stuff and GTFO

The Curry trade was like watching a plane takeoff you knew would crash immediately.
I’ve been here since the day Martin and Andrew opened the forum. I’m very appreciative of that, and always will be. I remember those early days advocating for trades for Nick Van Exel, Keon Clark, Marc Jackson (not Mark), Shannon Williams and so many more randoms. Being excited over the years about Mardy Collins, Steve Francis/ Marbury combo (so crazy it just might work), Jerome James finally fixing the center position, Chris Duhon setting assist records, David Lee actually being legit (my all time fav from the dark days). I thought Jared Jeffries at the MLE was the perfect player. 6’11 oversized defensive wing to pair with Curry and Frye in a supersized lineup. How perfect was that? Iso Zo being the real deal, Tim Hardaway as a future allstar, Shumpert looking amazing his rookie year. Chris Copeland and Prigioni being genius outside of the box signings. And don’t get me started on Linsanity. The peak prior to Brunson was 3rd year Porzingis at the beginning of the season. Without Melo, he started the season on a tear where we knew we had our next Ewing, maybe better. And then the injury put an end to that in a hurry. Then it was back to the dark days later that season. We have come a long way. I want to see this go on for as long as possible. And shout out to Randle, he never fully got his respect. He did a ton for this team, and now he’s having incredible impact as the second best player on a WCF team. Easily top 3 most impactful player for the Knicks in the past 25 years.

In a big way, I really wish Randle were here with this team potentially going to the Finals since he was such a part of the rebirth of this franchise, sad to me that he's not. The best I can hope is that we meet him in the finals, and may the best team win!
No one has mentioned Nate Robinson! How awesome would he be coming off the bench for this team?
Also, Jared Jeffries. I remember arguing with so many of you about how terrible he was - overrated defender, offensive zero.

Debates about draft picks were always feisty.
Big portion of threads on here.
Frank , Obi, Frye. Knox and KP were all polarizing.
Arguing about Coaches especially Phil seemed to trigger strong emotions.
Unexpected trades like Melo, KP and Randle of course.
And what about the anti Dolan threads. Which have been non existent lately.
However, my oldest memory of participating in Knick forums was back in the day arguing about Ewings worth.

I came to the same conclusion the day of the trade.
I’m glad that he’s doing well and that Minnesota appreciates what he brings.
I don’t think there’s a player that wants to win more in the entire league.

Maybe the main issue is he was here before Brunson, so it never felt like he embraced the secondary role. Maybe we and the media made that up and assumed based on his emotional personality. KAT coming in, it’s already established as Brunson’s team. And Randle is in the same boat with it being Edwards team. I don’t know, maybe this was just a perceived thing, but probably a big reason this was considered necessary.
I was here for the Lavar Postell vs Lee Nailon debates...
Alba tournaments. We did what we needed to survive the lean years.
