Luka is going to be making $70M per in 2 years for work on one side of the court. That's a lot of the cap. And you need to build an OKC like defense around him.

What we don't know is Dallas Med staff perhaps reporting to ownership Luka either not putting in the work or body won't hold up to what is needed to last thru a max deal. Nobody denies his talent but focus, temperament, work ethic, and body type are not all known to the casual fan.

Maybe Dallas mystical ability to see the Lottery results ahead mattered? Conspiracy? Naw, super powers to see the future perhaps!

Why Lakes do it? They see a new arena and an owner with lots of money. Buss family main asset is Lakers and with a star in place they will sell tickets. I get the attraction. That trade was awful for Dallas fans but you need a few years to sort it out. Lakers get a star to pair with a soon to retire Lebron to carry on. In the interim they could make some noise. Who says lakers keep Luka forever either?

We can't and shouldn't just stand pat and hope it get's better cause experience wasn't the reason we failed this season. Some of the key pieces do not fit!

KAT, Mikal and Mitch should be on the block.

KAT doesn't fit with JB. Cannot have two minus defenders and they don't even run a two men game.

Mikal isn't the defender or shooter we thought he was and is due for an extension.

And Mitch cannot be trusted to stay healthy for another playoff run and he's unplayable during the hack-a-Mitch minutes.

@Martin....thanks for posting this article. It's an interesting way to look at current game. We have 3 obvious weak links and all of them share the court together a lot. Kat and Brunson are the weak links on defense and Hart on offense. That's a lot to overcome if we are trying to win a chip. The better the team and the better the coach, the more likely those weaknesses will be exploited every second those weak links are on the court....

If Josh Hart had DDV's shooting/scoring mentality, Brunson Mikal Hart OG KAT may work.

If Brunson had CP3 PnR savviness and ball handling, Brunson Mikal OG KAT Mitch may work.

For me, you can live with Brunson defense cause of his scoring and closing.

Brunson Mikal OG Durant Mitch really works.

Good bullet point thread of the Bobby Marks stuff

How about off season sideline moves?

Always been a big fan of Allie, but I'm really liking that Hornets reporter. The Heat reporter looks like she's about to walk on to a Brazzers set. You can see Ja try to look away during that interview. 😆

I've seen some 3 team trade ideas floated out there where PHX/Minny/NY are involved.

Kat to PHX
KD to Minny
Naz/Donte to Knicks

My question is regarding Naz.

Naz is a free agent and would need to sign and be traded - is it accurate that we can't acquire a player (Naz) via a sign and tree?

Knicks traded 1st, Randle, DDV for KAT, no way they trade KAT for Naz, DDV only.

You cannot S&T Naz. Naz can opt into his player option and then get extended? Perhaps? But why does Naz want $15M versus open market $$$?

Thanks Martin - that was what I was getting at. Didn't think he was an option for us because he's going to hit the market for higher #.

I didn't watch the G League. How did Pacome play ? Promising that he take a spot in the rotation ?

We could absolutely use some improvements there.

My best case scenario under the normal circumstances of this roster.
Towns convinces Horford to sign here. We use Horford and KAT together. Mitch, Hart, Deuce and resigned shamet off the bench as a healthy rotation would be great.

Or

Knicks sign Chris Paul for the TPMLE and someone like Chris Boucher for the minimum.
C Robinson/ Hukporti
PF Towns/ Boucher/ Dadiet
SF Anunoby/ Hart/ McCullar
SG Bridges/ McBride
PG Brunson/ Paul/ Kolek

Sign a couple vets later on to finish out the roster

We would be playing smaller at times, but maybe would keep the Brunson mileage down for the long haul with Chris Paul running the show.

Knicks need to move JB off the ball. Which means we need a tall PG who can defend nba 1s and 2s. Delon wright is an example of the type of guard JB needs to play with in the starting lineup next year. But trying to turn JB into a playmaker like Hali, is not the move. JB is a killer and a closer. Let’s take advantage of that while he’s in his prime. I believe as he age, he will be one more of a playmaker like Chris Paul. But right now he’s a Kobe-lite type of guard.

I don’t know what to do with towns. I feel like either towns and Thibs gotta go and most likely it will be towns UNLESS we use Mitch to get a superstar like yanuss.

Shams says Knicks will be aggressive! Nice!

Isn’t Al Horford like 49 years old? I keep seeing his name mentioned.

He’s a spry 47 and does yoga, he’ll be good

Luke Kornet would be a sneaky vet min type of signing if Horford not available.

Yup he would be great too

How are you guys feeling about DeAngelo Russell on a prove it deal? He's boys with KAT and could provide minutes as an offensive hub for the second unit. Sucks as a defender tho. This assuming he opts out.
