Shamet might be our best option but why would he come back when he doesn't even know who's going to be the coach? What if the new coach doesn't like him? Someone like Shamet cannot afford to waste another season. If I was his agent, I'd want a guarantee or strong assurances he will get 20 mpg.

(Sarah Todd) Jordan Clarkson buyout with Jazz, landing spot likely to be the Knicks
hard to believe he's 33 but i like this better than Westbrook at this point. Clarkson should be more efficient on a good team.

Clarkson sucks.

I don’t get the Clarkson interest

we really dont have a true SG. And we could use another ballhandler if the IND series showed us anything. we also don't have a penetrating guard aside from Brunson, and maybe Hart who isn't a true SG.
MaTT4281@ 6/30/2025 5:25 PM
Clarkson means no Shamet? Haven't really paid attention to him in a couple years, when he was a repeat 6MOY candidate. How far has he fallen?

It's hard to call someone who shot 40% overall and 45% from two points range a "shooting" guard. He shot 36% from 3, which is ok. But it's also the same percentage McBride shot and people were saying he had a down shooting year last year. And Clarkson's defense also sucks. I'd rather keep Payne.
VDesai@ 6/30/2025 5:29 PM
2nd ballhandler and bench scorer is a priority. I just want that guy to be able to hit 3s at a high clip. Why not Brogdon?

I'm not a huge Clarkson fan but for vet min he's intriguing and fills some holes.
He's had some really good 3pt shooting seasons when he was on better teams. But if you're asking him to play 30+mpg and score 20ppg he's not going to be efficient.
VDesai@ 6/30/2025 5:33 PM
Those of you guys who hate Hart would really hate Russ. A non shooter with even more penchant to do crazy shit and way more ball dominant.
Rookie@ 6/30/2025 5:34 PM
Clarkson doesn’t have any playoff experience that I know of. I’d prefer Westbrook for that reason alone

Russell Westbrook is the Jordan Poole of Josh Harts.
PassTheBall@ 6/30/2025 5:35 PM
I can’t believe we are still talking about getting Lebron.
Tyus Jones, come on down! Also I kinda like getting Westbrook.
Can we get both? Bye Bye Duece?
Rookie@ 6/30/2025 5:38 PM
This jones is to small. We can’t have another micro guard

Clarkson is like a Obi but at the wing. In a vet min would be fabulous. We need a microwave scorer. He already made his money in his career

No to anymore undersized guards.
We are not so much trading *for* Lebron as getting off of KAT.
Personally, I like the idea of Lebron as player/coach. Actually, as player/cpoach we may be able to shift player salary into admin overhead
And taking Lebron off LA's hands means he comes with a decent role player, prospect and future whatnot.
Kat goes with last year's bench - all of them.

Pads his stats. Clear out so that Russ can grab that last rebound for his triple double!
