Randle and Reid combined make about as much as Towns per year. Is towns more talented than both those guys? Yes. I'd rather have those two.

I think it comes down to needing more guys that can dribble and pass.
A big weakness we have is guys who can get into the paint with the dribble and either finish or create.
Clarkson to a fault gets into the paint and is very creative (if often erratic) at scoring around the rim.
Our non Brunson scorers - Mikal/OG/Kat/Deuce -- maybe even a Shamet typically need someone to create open looks for them. Clarkson can get into paint and he can actually pass.
He's not perfect but he's a legit player IMO.
Add him to Jalen, Mikal, OG and Kat and that's now 5 legit scoring threats. Still need more on this squad --- should be interesting to see what names pop open or are left with out a seat in a few days.
Clarkson was a guy that earned a $14M per deal a few years back -- if we can get him for $5M that's not bad. Also possible he may take a vet minimum deal since he's been around for some time. If we can get him and still hold the TMLE that would be optimistic.

Issue with Brogdon is that he was never an elite athlete - now injured, aging he can't get by guys like he used to.

Ayton gave up $10M to get out of Portland - numerous reports have him going to Lakers who have the full $14.1M MLE available.
Giving up the $10M would assume Ayton would be out of Knicks range and could we trust his attitude on a squad that had issues last year and a squad that was all over defensively?
Clarkson for vet min is a steal. Now go get Horford.
Always said the goal needs to be a guard who can play on/off with Brunson and a big who can play on/off with Towns.
