Least trustworthy team with good results I have ever seen. What a rollercoaster this year.

Keep the ride going!

He actually was great on Pascal when you watch back that late third shift.

he was

and Pascal also gets very passive when KAT or Mitch are in the vicinity. You need to guard him with length. Hart on him is a joke

He wants to basket hang and leak out and get you down hill when you haven't gotten set. He is kind of a souped up Obi with a turnaround J. You can see why Obi is a good backup for him bc they love to leak out on you in transition and Hali is so pinpoint on the long passes.

A bigger defender in the halfcourt and he is far less dangerous.

Me personally I find it very hard to rationalize Thibs continued reliance on Josh Hart. Hart makes so many losing plays during the course of these games and I worry Thibs can't control himself.

Hart & Deuce only negative players tonight --- both scared the hell out of me with ball in hands.

Kat a +26 and again 24 and 13 --- yet still he leaves me screaming at the TV not to foul and not to miss some bunnies.

SO GOOD - SO FRUSTRATING

Lots of folks poo-pooing calls to play Shamet/Wright more but once again respectively they helped grow the lead with Brunson resting.

Thibs has Hart fomo. He’s terrified if he benches him out team won’t get the big 50/50 play it needs to win. Maybe he’s right. Nobody hit the kill shot but Hart got a couple massive buckets to close the game.

Yes - he did get some big boards.

Bridges has been getting a lot of heat lately, and deservedly so, but he was exceptional on the defensive end tonight. Held Haliburton to 8 pts tonight...applied full court pressure most of the night...shout out to Mikal.

Robinson was a master class in the third. One of the great defensive stretches of the season.

it is crazy. Thibs says, "play the game, not the series." And I'm asking, "are you watching the damn game? this guy is in a rut and digging a bigger hole"

All while Shamet demonstrated he had it tonight

anyway, positive side is we have obvious things we can improve on for game 6. They still don't have an answer for KAT or Mitch, and Bradley looked dinged up

KAT has annihilated Myles Turner one on one

Kat has a way of giving utter joy (buckets) and terror (fouls, missed bunnies, illegal picks all night and unneeded shoves all night)

He’s so damn good on offense when he’s going and it’s what makes the fouls so damn frustrating.

Barkley just grilled him on those fouls in the post game when KAT joined the TNT guys. He played it off at first ("Why are you making those dumb fouls?" "God only knows") but seemed uncomfortable as they kept pressing it. Admitted it hurts the team and he's got to get better about it.

Have grown to love Kat but he's all talk and will be right back to stupid fouling come Sat.

Barkley just asked him about it, and I got the sense KAT was taking it to heart. Another area with some slight improvement, good things can happen. He needs to be on the court and touching the ball a lot

We are so PTSD after game one that we are talking about missing kill shots when we never had less than a double digit lead in the 2nd half.

My gut tells me Hali shut himself down -- hopefully he or Mikal can do it again 2 more times.

VDesai wrote:Shamet and Mitch with the defensive intensity when it mattered

Shamet has applied the best perimeter pressure on the team in past few games and that includes Deuce/OG.

He's firing over screens, turning the ball handler and his (and Wrights) length is helpful vs little rascal TJ.

Agreed. OG is as strong as an ox. But that doesn't really help as much with Indy. They have a lot of fast jitterbug types. And Siakam just leans and slithers around him

Shamet is fast and jittery on D and I've been impressed. And we need size on Siakam. Even Achiuwa got in Siakam's head

That's a great description of Siakim - "a souped up Obi with a turn-around".
