Year 1: Return to playoffs, win first playoff series in a decade.
Year 2: Drags an injured team to game 7 of 2nd round.
Year 3: ECF game 6.

We're building.

But we also don't have an infinite timeline. This window might be open for another 2 yrs max. When you knock out the champs, you cant make the mistakes we did the next round. Kinda shot ourselves in the foot too much against a team that is playing at its absolute best.

Definitely saw Boston as the biggest hurdle, so it stings to lose to Indy of all teams, but this is also year 1 of Kal and KAT. Don't necessarily like the change in identity, but major shakeups like this tend to take a year.

Was a fun ride getting to ECF. We have a long off season to review. Would love to bring the toughness back.

Agree with all of this. Best Knick season in 25 years. Sucks to go out how we did. Bizarre fluke loss in game 1 did us in.

VDesai @ 5/31/2025 10:44 PM
Hart was always the 2nd ballhandler and primary screener for JB this year. Bridges in that role was a disaster. Pistons werent good enough offensively to hurt us, but the Pacers had the shooting and transition finishing.

If we hadn’t been busy sucking our own cocks because if Boston, we win Game 1. And that changes everything

I can see the Knicks playing a good game, but I don't see how they can pull it out tonight. The Pacers will punch their ticket to the Finals and the Knicks can celebrate eliminating Detroit and Boston and taking the Pacers to 6 games which is better than Milwaukee and Cleveland did.

Reverse jinx mode activated!

Is this Gudris?! Thank God, I was starting to get worried!

Knicks win and KP to Indy, confirmed.

This one didn't age well.

Holy shit, is this really Gudris? I was joking at first, but glad you found a new bandwagon! KP be damned!

I'm not sure if your team should/will come back as constructed. Giannis would be an excellent fit. I just question what it would take for you to get him.

get a life.

what the hell are you even doing on a Knicks forum

Martin please ban this douche bag

my life is jus fine and I didn't come to talk trash. I prefer the opinions of the opponents. If you don't like what I say, you can choose to not read it or just don't respond.

Yes.

- Jalen - yuck today...just yuck -- he went into iso mode and couldn't put a fork in dribble
- Mikal so MEH -- so SOFT -- just MEH
- OG just too clunky (even when shots are dropping he is falling all over the place) - late to virtually every 3 point close-out today
- Kat -- love em but a dummy who refuses to defend
- Hart - get him out of town
- Mitch --- did his job but limited as F
- Deuce -- lots of disappearing
- rest of bench Zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Thibs --- kind of tired of the act --- not sure my health can take another year of Thibs grind

In summary - thought we were getting a bunch of super IQ dogs --- that's not what we saw this year.

And then he barely played second half

This really hurts. Hate how it ended and we went out tonight.

It was a memorable season and one we won't forget.

Sucks the season will be most remembered for the game one choke. It will forever follow and torment these players and this hc.

We're good but just not good enough.

I’m not looking forward to watching this team next season.

Kat? How about Jalen - we are grinding those knees/ankles down into sawdust.

SupremeCommander @ 5/31/2025 10:50 PM
We need some grit and toughness. I wonder if Julius Randle is available

Who'd a thunk Landry was our top dog all along.

He was the #2 pick in the draft after all...

The sloppiness of our turnovers ALL YEAR was disgusting - tonight even felt worse and Thibs was probably wanting Josh at point to fix things.

I think Game 1 hurt a lot. This doesn't really hurt that much - this is what happens to teams who don't play serious enough every night. This is a good team, but too often found themselves doing shot that they were better than. After blowing game 1 they had to respond in Game 2. Losing 2 at home meant you were playing off the back foot and running uphill.

Philc1 wrote:Francesa is going to go ballistic on Thibs for benching Mitch almost the entire second half

How much did he play in 2nd half?

Didn't notice too busy screaming at Hart.

Chandler @ 5/31/2025 10:54 PM

The irony is there are an awful lot of pacers who I like the way they played. That said they are led by a douche bag pg; I have been watching basketball for over 50 years. the only two guys I have ever seen give a choke sign on the court are reggie and Tyrese. Low class douchbags (closely followed by The Great Satan who somehow thinks you earn the right to do that -- his words not mine). That's on the Pacers's franchise. A pox on their house and their fanbase. I hope they get embarrassed the way they got embarrassed in last year's ECF. they will get smoked by OKC.

I was very proud of the Knicks. I can quibble and complain about several things but not about their heart, which is most important. They should hold their heads high. one of my favorite moments of the season was seeing Landry Shamet get the well-deserved standing ovation in game 5. it was a testament to his play and to Knicks fans who appreciated his effort.

Thank you to the UK forum. it was a lot of fun sharing hoops with all of you this season. And thank you especially to Martin for keeping this special place rolling. There are many knowledgeable posters on this forum who are generous enough with their time, and patience, to teach the rest of us knuckleheads a little hoops so we can enjoy the game that much more.

See you next season.

Jesus - Josh as secondary ball handler.

Against most of the regular season league it’ll be OK, not playoffs though

Don’t have the exact number of minutes he did play 30 minutes tonight and Thibs had him on a 19-20 minute limit. It was an elimination game and Mitch was why the game was close up to halftime maybe make an exception to policy.
