Now we know who pushed Thibs out!!!!

Mr. “Key Holdovers”

Been my stance that there could only be one player and/or one assistant who could have influenced Thibs getting fired. Thibs benching Brunson in playoffs for long stints cost him their loyalty.

Thibs gave JB the keys to the offense, let him dominate. Made his Dad lead assistant. I dont believe the Brunsons were involved.

Rick must have known that there was a good chance that he wouldnt be lead assistant with a new coach.

My guess is that Dolan and Leon talked about Thibs, and were on the same page as far as a change being needed to get to the next level.

It seems more possible everyone outside of the Brunson's & Josh Hart probably favored moving on from Thibs for their own reasons.

True. Jalen did look miserable in that one pacers playoff game when Thibs had him on the bench up until about 2 minutes left in regulation because Deuce was playing so effectively. I don’t think Jalen and his Dad caused the firing but they did not veto it either.

That is a lose-lose situation. And you just pointed out why. He saves Thibs he doesn't want what's best for the team. He doesn't veto the firing and it is also on him somehow.

Third option is he talked through it with the team and didn't like it but couldn't disagree with the facts presented to him and he let his Godfather do his job.
