Obviously, its going to be Jay Wright.
Wait. Kenny Atkinson is still the Cavs coach right? I don't understand the odds

LOL classic interwebs

I will not stand for the rationalization that this is "Year 1" for the new coach. You make this move citing a singular focus on winning a title and the clock is ticking faster. Everyone's expectations next year should be Finals.

between espn and tnt the only people I like are Breen and Harlan. Reggie has been trying really hard to be objective but still fails.

everyone else including shaq and chuck can retire at this point.

also no Malone?

Many reasons of course why he was fired. Have been discussed many times. I will just say this: when you have 2 all-Nba players on a team , the whole season you have not been able to make them work together on the court. Then in the ECF it dawn's on you " bingo! I will just simply not play them together!! Duh!! Piece of cake!!"

That will get a coach fired

Huge props to Thibs. Literally built this thing from Fizdale's ashes

They gave him the extension at the beginning of the season so he wouldn't be a lame duck coach.

Based on the timing, I think the Knicks are going after Bryant! I think we will get an announcement pretty fast too.
gradyandrew @ 6/3/2025 6:25 PM
My vote is for Bud.
martin @ 6/3/2025 6:34 PM
Don’t know the reasoning but Bondy does

Clean @ 6/3/2025 6:37 PM
The beginning of the end for Thibs was iHart leaving. He covered up so many of Thibs faults on the court.

Similar philosphy....I think the Knicks want a young, innovative coach, thats creative and adaptive. Bryant makes the most sense to me.

I’m a huge fan of Monica McNutt. I’d replace SAS with her all day. She’s an actual fan. Would miss her on the game calls though.

We block Haliburton's ridiculous shot in game one and this thread doesn't exist.

Although I suppose this thread would then have gotten created after getting swept by OKC.

VDesai @ 6/3/2025 6:50 PM
Sad thing is we have a bunch of people opining on Thibs who dont even know the name of the last guy who coached the Knicks before Thibs.

Hint, it wasnt Fizdale!

Give Leon credit. There were a million reasons not to make the move and make his job and life easier. But he is doing the hard things and the hard things are usually required for success.

Nalod @ 6/3/2025 7:10 PM
Understand the under achieving but the reasons for it are not clear.
Not beating top tier teams is not a reason unto itself. Why we did not is.

The list is pretty long man. Whether you choose to accept it is on you.
