Is there a deadline (6/30?) where they have to reach an extension or can they reach a new extension anytime between today and next NBA year in 2026?
Knicks can extend Mikal starting July 6th of this year. They can offer a 4 year $156 million max. Mitch they can extend at any time. They need to extend both. Knicks can salary dump Hart next offseason to avoid the second apron as he will be an expiring contract 2026-2027(following year is a club option).
Like to see Mitch and Bridges extended, and Bridges offered in a sign and trade if he’s going to be a starter again. I know JB and Mikal were Nova teammates, but you wouldn’t know it from watching them this past season.
I suppose a new coach could help them do a better job of getting on the same page, but Bridges will probably start regardless.
Only way to get any value back.

Thanks.
I'm scared to extend Mitch with his injuries, I would like to sell high on him. But Mikal still has one of the most valuable skillsets in the league. I don't mind extending him.
But if FO thinks Mitch can stay relatively healthy, he is an absolute game changer in a playoff series. He's sort of the only guy in the whole league who can do what he does, the way he does it, in the playoffs.

I would literally offer him the same contract he was just on with the declining value. I think he would take it and it's a good deal for the team to manage and very tradeable
Extend both of them. Yes please.
One of the worst and most predictable mistakes Knicks made last 25 years (saying alot) was trading away a young Marcus Camby
