See Magic staying with Mosley. Unless relationship with Wagner and Banchero not as strong as it seems. Donavan Florida ties make sense though for him. As does young talent.
Knicks would look stupid to give up on Brown so quickly.
GS seems like best destination if Kerr retires.
However, depending on playoffs, many teams may have openings.
I think Brown in GSW during a rebuild would be a shitty job for a while.
If Kerr had any thoughts of retiring one would think they would have a succession plan for some time now?
Maybe Brown did not want it or GSW to go with a younger coach and groom during a rebuild/retool?
Billy to Orlando is logical as they are prime to make the next step up but to be fair injuries have been problematic.
I don't know about his "Florida Ties" that still exist. He fucked them over resigning and then reneging on the Magic with regret and went back coach Florida for a few more years before bolting to OKC.
Mosley has not been able to take Paolo to the next level and that has to be a clear description for anyone to take the job on.
Obviously Leon things well of Billy but an interview was never granted and thus the vision never presented.
Lets say Knicks don't make it out of first round. Is the issue Mike Brown? A flawed roster? A stubborn roster not buying the coaches vision? Are they not happy with Mike? IF so, is it the same who were not happy with Thibs? If so, is it a their problem? Do we have an issue with Rick Brunson and some Nepo shit annoiting his son the Golden child? Jalen being showcased at the detriment of the rest of the roster?
I don't know the issues, nor has the season even ended. Media has its clickbait agenda. Knicks constructed a coaching staff around Brown and year later dismantle it? Maybe if Brown is wooed, and as said knicks not happy perhaps they slide Jent in to the spot, move on from Daddy Rick, and if need be move from players not buying in.
I trust Leon.

You can’t build a championship team around two volume shooters that are defensive liabilities.
It’s already hard to hide one player in today’s nba but two?
ATL scored 42 points in the paint in the second half. The most all year.
And we all saw how JB got roasted.
Can’t hide them both. Brown going to have to make a decision and my guess is to split JB and Towns up a little more. Plug in Mitch because you can’t put a small forward on him and expect to win. You can with towns because JB doesn’t set the table, he is the table.
JB, Deuce, Shammet are looking to score.
Kolek and Jose are the only PGs on the team but their defense will also get exposed.
We have a roster problem.
They will win the series. Might even make it to the finals. But we not winning a chip with this roster.
I'll say it a bit differently.
I think the Knicks have seen that they can in fact win a lot with KAT and Brunson and play good enough defense. But you cannot build a team that has 2 special offensive players and then not have guys around them that can either create or get those guys the shots they need as a function of how the team plays.
Knicks have 2 incredible wing defenders who can space and cut very very well. And another very special wing who can impose his will on games, guard guys like Jalen Johnson, rebound the fuck out of the ball while being only 6'5.
Knicks do not have a guy who can pass or dribble amongst that group at a high enough playoffs level. Nor do they have complimentary players off the bench that can do that, with the obvious caveat that they in fact DO have those guys on the bench but are not using them. Now, whether they are good enough or good enough for the playoffs is another question.
Now, if Knicks do not make a material change this offseason ie KAT for Giannis, one thing they probably will do is move Deuce and maybe either one of this years picks and/or more to change that dynamic. Mo will also help some if he is indeed ready.

Has that ever slowed Dolan down? Haha NOPE

No because Steph, Green, and Butler have 1 more year and why would you think about a different coach than Kerr. Kerr and GWS have openly talked about if this is his last year or if he wants to stay with Steph til the end or stop after this year, they have not figured it out and owners would be in a tough spot hiring a young coach for Steph's last hurrah.
I think it's just a weird spot for everyone to be in as they all get old.

Yes. It was always said Kerr would stay until Steph left. I think Kerr would come back one more year but I read Ownership wants the commiment and "attention to detail" which usually comes with an extension. How do you break up a dysnasty and move on from a player so beloved like Steph. Chemistry that he and Green brings? And a fan base that loves them all!!!
Money aside a question: Trade Brunson for Steph year or two left? Starphuch or legit title path? All good things must come to an end.

I'll add one aside: If If If Kerr does NOT want to coach next year and GSW ownership possibly thinks Brown would be a good bridge from Steph to the next version after Steph and Brown was up for that type of opportunity cause somehow he is not feeling it in NY... then bingo.
NEver say never!
They saying the samething in Cleveland with Atkinson who also was with Kerr after he was let go by the Nets?

im not saying GSW. Kenny was assistant in GSW before he was hired in Cleveland. Thus if they "Fail" this year, and Kerr is perhaps on the way out, Im floating the idea that perhaps Cav fans are saying the same shit we are talking about with Brown.

Kerr is definitely an option but hells no to trading for him . There are good coaches available who are free agents
Kerr is definitely an upgrade over Brown but he is not worth the 24th pick

Kerr is not an option. He is literally talking about retiring. This year.
He has enough troubles at the moment, so the last thing Coach Brown should do right now is to publish the book he has been working on in secret, The Satanic Verses, Part Two
Yeah, he isn’t the answer.
But there is a deeper problem with this team.
Is he that bad or does Brunson's dad have something to do with this clown show. Never did like teams with father coaching and son playing on same team going way back to Pop Warner, Little league, and CYO basketball.
Mike Brown signed a 4-year, $40 million contract with the New York Knicks in July 2025.
Here are the key details:
Length: 4 years
Total value: $40 million
Average salary: about $10 million per year
Makes him one of the higher-paid coaches in the NBA
Rookie wrote:I give Mike Brown 2 years before he is firedIt's still crazy to me that we extended Thibs contract for 3 more years and he didn't even play one single day of his extension.
I still think this although I might of overshot the runway by half a season. I’ll be shocked if he makes it to the allstar break next year. Geeez, we’re still paying Thibs for two more years. This was a total brain fart by the FO brain trust. What a wasted year. I can’t remember I Knicks team I was less invested in. It was a lot more fun when we were overachieving underdogs
Brown hugging Draymond after what he did and said to KAT and his postgame comments making it seem like he doesn't expect to win this series have really angered me but I'll bite my tongue until this season is over.

Unless there are sharp role reversals on this team and better execution that produces a miracle run, Brown is already gone.
Dolan eats long-term coaching contracts for breakfast.

I get knicks contacted him. But its like "I hate Mike Brown so much I don't see"....
Billy donovan .531 winning % made playoffs 6 in 11 years, advanced past first round ONCE!!!
His HOF cred if his stint with Florida. Had a great run.
As a pro coach he did not reach finals with Thunder in 2012, that was other knicks back up PG named Scott Brooks! Not Billy the kid.
While Mike Brown is frustrating us at the moment, call hin for his head for some fictious young inovative coach who can unlease the teams is open ended. "Anybody but Mike Brown". Im not going to defend him against illogical emotional fans who need blood to satisfy the current frustrations. Nobody here is accountable for a thing we have no job to protect nor a record to build.
We just want to win and have fun!
Im not saying he will fail. But I can't see him succeeding. Unless he can recruit players like he did in college He has not achieved even to the same level as Mike brown has. At least the Steve Kerr starphuch has some backbone to it.
Larry Brown had all the cred as a pro or college coach. Dude just came off a chip and a return to finals when he took Isiah's money. What a fucking disaster he was. Why? The circumstances.
What is the circumstances today and if don't win the next 3 of 4 games vs ATL with roster changes perhaps?
Stephen A Smith is an entertainer who acts like a 12 year old emotionally imbalanced child wrapped up with a preachers speech cadance to the delight of sports fans. I think he is funny as hell.
I hope we all celebrate Coach Mike brown in June through he canyon of heroes. We can all eat our crown and celebrate the chip!
If not, he gonna be just fine with all that money if he gets run out of town.
I just hope the next guy does better!
