Meanwhile while we slept.......

Hawks won 8 in a row, 9-1 last 10!
Hornets are 8-2 and now over .500!
Heat are 8-2, 7 in a row and Wilt is back from the dead!
Magic are 8-2, 6 in a row.

In the age of parity teams are not always their record so pay attention to the latest few weeks of who comes in hot. They loom on the bottom half of the play-off seedings but danger lurks. Not just for knicks, but for any team.

Randle did that BS in the last minute of crunch time in the playoffs when he was a Knick

Stop apologizing for his rubbish attitude towards playing defense

Im not. Three time allstar and twice All NBA speaks for itself. Im not saying he was without his warts, but like most things it was uneven and thus I choose to recall the vast positives and others dig in on the negative. Its my opinion he took more than his FAIR share of the blame as fans need it.
YOu need it. You need a player to bitch stop blame on. Its your perogative and Im not telling you to stop. Not like he making max money or even close.
Nobody sizing him for a HOF jacket either.

He came as a free agent and did good.

When a guy gives up on his team at the most critical times, because he doesn't feel like trying I have no use for him. Randle is a quitter

I don't care if he is the King of Siam

You can try to balance everything out all you want. That's your prerogative. I don't function like that. Quitting when your teammates need you most is a character flaw I cannot overlook.

Or… half of the league’s teams are tanking so these wack teams are racking up wins against teams that are flat out laying down for them. To be honest the NBA kinda sucks this year. I don’t care about Detroit’s record, they are not that good, they shouldn’t be the number one seed of anything. OKC, without the ref’s giving them foul baiting privileges, really wouldn’t be all that either. Bam Adebayo scoring 83 points? He’s not good enough to deserve a record like that, but stat-padding against a tanking scrub team that should be in the g-league allows him to do so.

Hell, just look at the Knicks now, we are the only team currently that is top 5 for offensive and defensive ratings, but you can’t seriously tell me that the eye test is matching up with those stats. To be honest, outside of the Denver game, we’ve been trash on offense especially in taking care of the ball. The main reason we likely have that rating is how trash the league is outside of the top 10 teams.

Yeah, saying we are in an age of parity doesn't ring true to me either after seeing truly great teams playing against each other from the 70s to the 90s.

A Celtics team with Bird, Mchale, Parish, Ainge, Johnson, Maxwell, Archibald or Lakers teams with Kareem, Magic, Worthy, Scott, Cooper would win 75 games against this current league and they'd run the table to the finals.

There are no great teams anymore, just a handful of great players. That doesn't mean parity. It means the bar is lower so most good teams today would be sub .500 teams 30-40 years ago.

That the quality of the teams were much better is kind of amazing considering how much rougher the game was back then. Because you can't really make much contact anymore, the foul calling by the refs has become more glaringly obvious when it is biased.

And the biases of the league are now so appallingly obvious that is hard not to long for the often brutal game some of us grew up on. I can't watch SGA without feeling nauseous. It just violates everything I loved about the game watching that guy rack up free throws. Great player, but jesus the bias drives me nuts sometimes.

For a very long time Detroit, Lakers, Sas, Celtics, and Bulls won the titles.
Now you don't have that. Thus more Parity.
This year you have no real it team. That makes things interesting in the sense about 6-7 teams can contend vs. a top heavy league.
This year you have more tanking which does suck. In this age of parity where the hard cap/aprons prevent dysnasties and make it easlier to go from worst to first rather quickly it does not kill franchises for long periods of time, Detroit before last year was awful. Last year they made playoffs, this year they are very much contending. Same for SAS. Tanking is legal and will be addressed soon enough.

Look at how many non repeat champs we have been getting this century compared to what was for a very long time.

The crazy thing is knicks are best they been in decaades despite having squandered their economic advantage by starphuching without effect. Many of us became fans in the 70's or in the 90's.

While some of us might not like this NBA as we did years ago, its natural for the older fan to not embrace change.
Reality is if you have other teams besides just a few in you gain an indeliable fan base that grows up loyal. Thats a fact, not opinion. The hawks don't have a solid fans base becuase they have not won a title ince moving from St Louis. ATL is a transient city and its why knick fans are large in attendence. Same for CLT.

My point is winning matters. The leagues "refined" cap structure promotes parity and its why you have teams still competing and can turn things around even in mid season. Im not saying its better, its just different. Looksl ike just one team will win 60 games this year. Look how bunched up teams are to each other. Teams making runs even if not sustainable grabs bandwagon fans when younger.

Thats what the NBA is doing right. They are gaining younger fans. If you are in the demographic perhaps we dont' fully get it.

Streaming has changed the viewing landscape the proof of its success is in its increasing revenue and franchise value rise that defies logic. Baseball has a clock. Interleague play, etc. Fan interest was dying. Its come back.
NFL? The game looks more like college. Wild endings and rules that favor the offense. Gone is the star running back also. Is the game better? Or just successful?

Yes, Tanking sucks and its being addressed. Flopping was addressed. Violence was addressed.
Bam dropped 61 after the 83. In times we won't care.
We forgave Kobe was a rapist. Jordan was a degenerate gambler and sociopath. Winning is all anyone cares about.

And despite his flaws, the guy single-handedly gave us all basketball back.

All hail Julius!

Single handedly? RJ, IQ and Mitch were there too.

Randle was a very good signing who played well for us. He eventually got turned into a better player Karl Anthony Towns. I wish Randle all the best he was a good Knick and not a douchenozzle like Porzingis.

he's going to get picked much higher than he should be and he owes it to Jokic.

Nalod @ 3/18/2026 11:13 AM
He transferred to St Louis two years ago. Was the Atlantic 10 player of the year this season.
Nicknames include: "Larry Nerd", "Larry Blurred", "Steph Blurry", “Milk Chamberlain”, and "Rob Wave".

Draft room his him ranked 30th CENTER available so I doubt he goes in the 1st round.
That he will be 23 in Sept vs Jokic who was a few years younger when drafted will matter. The kid is 6-10 and for sure lacks the tools for NBA but he can shoot and gets it done around the rim. Not like he'd be the first to defy logic. Our Jalen Brunson is an all nba player taken in the 2nd round! I'd be suprised if drafted but perhaps some one sees something in him and gives him a opportunity?

Looking down.......The i85 corridor is heating up. ATL and CLT are no joke.
Nalod got tickets to see Knicks in CLT next week. For the first time in a long time this has really good game potential!

As for ATL, they have won 11 in a row sitting in the 6th spot tied with ORL snf just 1.5 behind Raptors. Seedings are not always a telling sign when a team surges late. This is the kind of shit that messes things up but its great for business. Keeps interest up creating "moments" that builds fan bases. AKA: "Excitement"!

LIkewise Cade a bonafide MVP candidate up until now still has plenty of time to make it back and get into playing shape depending on the severity of the injury. If they hang on to the top seed, but if he is not recovered right now you have Orlando, Mia, Phil and CLT all in the play in at the moment. PHilly gets PG13 and Embiid healthy that is a different team. Miami and CLT are on the rise while ORlando having lost 3 in a row but last 10 is still 7-3. Not sure what the deal is there but still tied for the 6th spot with ATL.

4 teams are within a half a game of each other for that last 6th spot. Out west 3-6th are 3 games a part.

For a change The east is the stronger division with 10 teams above .500 where West has just 7.
