Looking down.......The i85 corridor is heating up. ATL and CLT are no joke.
Nalod got tickets to see Knicks in CLT next week. For the first time in a long time this has really good game potential!
As for ATL, they have won 11 in a row sitting in the 6th spot tied with ORL snf just 1.5 behind Raptors. Seedings are not always a telling sign when a team surges late. This is the kind of shit that messes things up but its great for business. Keeps interest up creating "moments" that builds fan bases. AKA: "Excitement"!
LIkewise Cade a bonafide MVP candidate up until now still has plenty of time to make it back and get into playing shape depending on the severity of the injury. If they hang on to the top seed, but if he is not recovered right now you have Orlando, Mia, Phil and CLT all in the play in at the moment. PHilly gets PG13 and Embiid healthy that is a different team. Miami and CLT are on the rise while ORlando having lost 3 in a row but last 10 is still 7-3. Not sure what the deal is there but still tied for the 6th spot with ATL.
4 teams are within a half a game of each other for that last 6th spot. Out west 3-6th are 3 games a part.
For a change The east is the stronger division with 10 teams above .500 where West has just 7.
Bring a pro athlete is hard. But the rewards are plentiful if you can make it to a certain level. Generationally plentiful
Effort is not hard to produce, it’s mostly a mental decision. I’ll never understand this circumstance
Im really liking what KAT has been doing since "do your fucking job" and things coming together.
He and OG are using thier size better these days.
Jules? Well thats what 33 mil buys these days. Can't speak for his mental state given he does it plenty, but his game is a bit biPolar. The highs are high and the lows are there too. No Weed, likes the low key living in Minny, and his mates. WE generally get a some videos of off season works outs, a new hair style, and he tells us whats up media day?
I'd say his rebounding is pretty darn good for a guy as high as a kite!
Ignore the haters Jules!!!

Knicks are at a peak and I'm finding myself in this space, low level ambivalence outside of Knicks
Happy for Seattle fans but I think the last thing this league needs are more teams.

Is your concern diluting of the product?
All I know about soccer comes from Ted lasso. That said I like soccers idea of demoting teams
Could help combat tanking. Big problem for league along w sketchy, inconsistent officiating

Exactly. Adding two teams means you're adding two more tanking teams.
Its been about 25 years since the last expansion team (Bobcats) and while its been said the 1990s saw a dilution of talent and perhaps why the bulls were so dominant, since then we hae seen the global markets produce the a lot of the top tier talent. of 12 of the last MVP's over 25 years are players born outside the USA.
While the game has changed no doubt if the 1990s are some of die hard fans favorite eras, that factually came on the heals of expansion.
The Tank era the cause of diluted talent or misanaged roster contraction?
Or is Tanking just plain old "Smart" and if the teams can financially handle getting given the strength of revenue streams despite losing perhaps that is part of the cause?
Is there actually depth in the talent pool that can actually handle it? I mean look at the knicks? We got Randle via free agency from the scrap heap and given an opportunity became an allstar. Brunson, as second round is a top all NBA talent was also disregarded. Diawara a 50th pick is a rotational playr in his rookie year. Maybe a guy like Mclain who is not off the bench for OKC could be a starter if given the chance?
All conceptual thoughts. I have read 2-300mil each team would get is really not a big price to dilute the TV revenue in the future and not all owners were thrilled by the prospect.
Sergio, you might be right but I'd think they have thought it thru. The Vegas can handle another franchise after the NHL, NFL and the A's coming on is so very interesting!

We have 205M committed to 9 players. This doesn’t include draft pick holds, Mitch, Shamet, Clarkson or Diawara.

I took the bait and intense narrative! LOL, this guy is a tool.
Reid did charge.
What he said to foster? Was not fully disclosed.
Bottom line is Minny got it done and another fold by Rockets who can't close.
Minny got the best and worst from Jules for the win.
I Went to bed in middle of 4th quarter after watching most the game. Good win wihtout Ant.
Had been watching ATL/Detroit game.
Minny, like knicks are in that 2nd tier.
Lakers? Reaves returning and Lebron as "Role player" is working. JJ Reddick doing a fine job there.
McCollum on ATL looks really good. Detroit is illogical on paper but even without Cade gets it done.
Duncan Robinson gives them that Miami look? In a way they do. Bunch of tough players and he can shoot it.

Teams did not tank in the past because teh gate suffered. Maybe the national TV money is a big factor as teams can afford to lose at the gate and in a year with quality players its just plain smart.
There is a gap between the playoff/play in teams and then it drops hard to the Tank teams. That gap perhaps is where its most obvious. Teams are not incentivized to tread water. you eitehr play up, or drop out. The new rules are should help to close it.
Since being the absolute worst does not give a team clear advantage I think more teams went there given the depth of draft.
I cannot fathom how dropping an NBA team to the Gleague can work seeing that GLeague teams are mostly owned by NBA owners.
In theory it works and is a hell of an idea, but its too punitive in reality.
