Knicks · Fan Favorite 8th man? (page 1)

Nalod @ 9/22/2025 5:56 PM
Huk gonna see the court?
Kolek for a second rounder?
Clarkson? He might be most hated if he comes out chucking out badly.
Yabu the Zion killer!!! I want to see him and OG abuse men when on the court together!
Dadiet? Never know if he steps up maybe Josh is expendable? Love the guy but if Jalen can live with it it might be best for the team?

My favorite? I'll let it happen. OG is still my dog for now. lets see how that second unit does.

Panos @ 9/22/2025 7:25 PM
I think of Huk can stay healthy he's got a lot of potential for minutes with an injury prone Mitch ahead of him. I think he's my pick of that bunch.
Panos @ 9/22/2025 7:27 PM
I can see Yabu providing some much needed PF mins/scoring off the bench, just gotta see if he has any lateral quickness to not be a KAT/turnstile on defense.
ToddTT @ 9/22/2025 7:37 PM
Yabu. Mainly because I can’t wait to hear Clyde say Yabu dabba doo.

There are few certainties in life, but this is one of them.

ramtour420 @ 9/29/2025 7:28 PM
This one is easy. Even tho he is not going to get a lot of minutes Shamet is already my favorite end of the bench rotation player. Legit two way. Always ready. Mentally tough, no nonsense. Let's not forget that he ended the season shooting 46% from three. I haven't seen Yabu nor Clarkson nor Brogdon play tho. Could be close.
Rookie @ 9/30/2025 9:14 AM
Two of the players listed in your poll don’t even have contracts.
EwingsGlass @ 9/30/2025 9:14 AM
Kind of confused. Yabu is obviously a rotation piece. Barring injury Brogdon is 6th man talent ahead of Deuce, Clarkson and dare I say it, Hart. Clarkson is not my favorite from an advanced stat perspective, but you have to imagine he will get time. I think you easily have 9 or 10 rotation players without even blinking or considering development. So, which one is 8? I have Yabu. 6 Brogdon / 7 Hart / 8 Yabu

Brunson / Brogdon
Bridges / Deuce / Clarkson
OG / Hart
KAT / Yabu
Robinson

Don't get hung up on the number 8. I am just asking who of the new guys + prospects is everyone excited about most.

fishmike @ 9/30/2025 1:26 PM
Yabusele is a really underrated signing. I think he's really going to help. We had a healthy OG last year but Yabu is perfect to replace him for a month when he dislocates his pinky or some weird shit

I have Brogdon and Yabu ahead of Deuce. If I only had 8, Brogdon, Hart and Yabu make the cut. That is entirely dependent on Brogdon’s health.

Knixkik @ 10/3/2025 11:30 PM
Knicks are really deep. This is great.

Hope you’re right. Knicks got very lucky last season with OG staying healthy

VDesai @ 10/7/2025 9:50 AM
Clarkson is PROBABLY the 8th man.

That said I'm still confused at how you play Clarkson, Deuce, Brogdon in a rotation. I'm not convinced we're keeping all 3.

VDesai @ 10/7/2025 9:56 AM
My conspiracy theory is that we signed Clarkson BEFORE we hired Brown. Then we got Brogdon after...maybe Brown is less in on Clarkson than the FO and asked for a hedge. Just a thought, but purely speculative.

BTW I also freely admit this doesn't make sense if you look at this with Malik Monk in mind since Clarkson is basically older Monk...

I have to tell you, I don't think it even has to be a conspiracy theory. It's most likely what happened. Jordan knew he was going to get bought out and probably told the team or teams he wanted to sign with to hold a spot for him. From the Knicks side of things, getting a guy at that caliber and who had the attributes they most needed was an easy decision, especially at the vet min. What are the other options, realistically?

They still would have had 1 more vet min slot at their disposal for anyone else like Brogdon so why not also grab Clarkson while you can..

At first it will be Brogdon with Deuce playing at the 2 quite a bit
