Didn't shoot well today but I tend to agree --- Mathews seems to have more of an aggressive shooters mentality where Shamet often appears afraid to let the shot go.
Mathews looks bigger BUT no idea how good/bad his D is.
Pacome looking like a turd both in summer league and 1st 2 games -- love the form but he needs to knock some shots down when open. Also he is very timid (Frank like) with the ball in his hands in open court (doesn't want to attack the rim off the dribble and always looking to give the ball up).
Me personally I would like to keep all 3 of Brogdon, Shamet and Mathews.
I'd rate Brogdon 1, Mathews 2 and Shamet 3 but me personally don't think Kolek has any huge untapped potential if we were to move him.
Also liked the kid we picked up that played with Nets last year - older but looks more ready vs Pacome who is 3 or 4 years younger.
I know it is still early, but have you seen the new offense? everybody is running, JB is sprinting, passes, dunks, ball is moving around..... and all that without yet building chemistry, I am excited about this season.... GOOOOOO KNICKS
Thibs offense there was no jelling. I mean, how much jelling can you do when everyone watches Brunson/KAT take turns isoing. The offense actually got worse as the season progressed. This year I expect real jelling to take place. Exciting, let's see
This is like Déjà vu all over again. I remember hearing and seeing the same things last year at this time…and the year before. Ball movement looked great with Brunsons passing ability on display only to be abandoned around the time Allstar voting begins and devolving back into an iso heavy stagnant offense. Brunson will abandon ball movement if he feels he needs to take over the game to put us in position to win. He will do it again this year also.
Off ball movement might be better this year if the players know they won’t be playing 40+ minutes a game every game

Hard disagree with pointing the finger at our best player since Melo (or since Pat tbh). You leverage an exceptional player and you play to their strengths. I hope Mike Brown does that, but I won't be shitting on some supposed limitation to JBs game, like he's the reason for negative results.

Brunson is a baller. A team guy. I don’t see him prioritizing himself over the team - I think you are right. His championships in college were the product of system basketball and motion offense. I think it’s hard to pin iso ball on him. I think there will be a transition period if they truly embrace a 4-1 running the ball through KAT in the high post. But Brunson should still be showcased in that model - with him getting looks on off ball movement. With Brogdon able to step in and deliver high efficiency minutes behind Brunson, there should be no need to slow down for lack of energy.
Wingstop with Bridges, OG, Hart and Deuce can run non stop.
KAT, Yabu give you 5 out viability.
I don’t want to believe this team will regress to iso ball. It doesn’t have to. It has the personnel to keep running. I actually think Brunson will have a better year with less tough shots against set defenses. I’d be all in if I were him.
