Knicks came out of that timeout playing a 3-2 with Mitch at the top and Towns and OG on the blocks....interesting...
Uptown @ 10/4/2025 11:34 AM
Mitch running the floor and being rewarded...gotta luv it
Uptown @ 10/4/2025 11:54 AM
Deuce getting into the paint twice already...seems like an emphasis so far...
Uptown @ 10/4/2025 11:56 AM
speaking of emphasis, seeing lots of penetration and interior passes to the dunker spot ( mainly Mitch ) as opposed to spraying it out everytime for a 3
Uptown @ 10/4/2025 12:01 PM
I like the Towns and Yabu combo...lots of spacing. Also, Yabu providing some rim protection. Block on one end and comes back with a 3

Might actually try 5 out some this season.

Matthews is a flamethrower..everyone talking about making room for Shamet, Matthews is more intriguing to me...

After being largely unimpressed by Kolek, a couple nice plays this quarter - drive underneath the basket, then kick out for an open 3 (missed), then just now beat his defender of the dribble, dishes over to Huk for the layup.

Still need more, but that's encouraging.

I might be jumping the gun, but based on what i've seen so far of our young players, I think our best young prospects are:
1) Diawara
2) Hukporti
3) McCullar

I like Dadiet and Kolek, but I am definitely open to consolidating them into either one talented prospect or potentially a future first round pick. As of right now I am on board with Mike Brown completely burying Diawara on the bench. Don't let other teams catch on to how talented he is. This is the type of guy that Danny Ainge would try to pickpocket us for. His feel for the game on offense is ahead of Dadiet in my opinion. Despite some rookie mistakes (i.e. cross court passing), he has a good feel for the game on offense imo. I think he also has the physical tools to be an OG lite type of defender too. I really like what i've seen of him especially his passing and playmaking at his size. I think he ould be something between a more skilled Jared Jeffries type and an OG type of player. At the same time, I could see a Tim Thomas type with a higher motor.

I think the Knicks intend to sign Diawara to the second round exception and that has to be either 3 or 4 years, with the last year as a team option. I think.

Knicks almost NEED to sign Diaware to that exception especially in the scenario where they do not move or trade a player and only sign one of the vet mins.

I don't even know what is correct. NBA.com says Knicks 113, PHI 104. ESPN has 112-104

This is great news if true. I was worried that we might have a McCullar type of situation where we could lose him. The one area of need we have is a legit backup 3&D SF/PF that can shoot open threes, we might have that in Diawara in another year or two, but wouldn't be surprised if he broke out post allstar break either.

Didn't shoot well today but I tend to agree --- Mathews seems to have more of an aggressive shooters mentality where Shamet often appears afraid to let the shot go.

Mathews looks bigger BUT no idea how good/bad his D is.

Pacome looking like a turd both in summer league and 1st 2 games -- love the form but he needs to knock some shots down when open. Also he is very timid (Frank like) with the ball in his hands in open court (doesn't want to attack the rim off the dribble and always looking to give the ball up).

Me personally I would like to keep all 3 of Brogdon, Shamet and Mathews.

I'd rate Brogdon 1, Mathews 2 and Shamet 3 but me personally don't think Kolek has any huge untapped potential if we were to move him.

Also liked the kid we picked up that played with Nets last year - older but looks more ready vs Pacome who is 3 or 4 years younger.
