In real time I wanted to vomit, on replay it actually looked blatant. KAT gets called for far less!
I went to bed after the 3rd, or passed out in a drug and alcohol fueled rage but whatever, and these posts seems to sum up the game, right?

Not wrong, meanwhile Randle shooting his best eFG% of his career, even better than the lights out COVID year. With Donte performing one of his career bests too. Dammit

Randle schmandle. We have a $60m chucker!
If he didn’t get lucky on a couple of chucks, we probably don’t make it out of the first round last year.
Live by the chuck, die by the chuck.

10 game underwater shooting streak for Randle incoming!
This doesn't feel like a champion caliber team. This feels like a 42 win happy to make the playoffs team. They gotta tighten up.

we have a great team but a big part of me wishes we had stayed the course and kept the youth. that maybe we cashed out too soon.
Are we really much better with KAT, OG and Mikal vs Randle, DDV, RJ, Grimes and Quickley? AND all our picks? Think we ended up attaching 7 1st rounders to those guys which is pretty wild.

I'm drawing my line after OG and Mikal acquisitions while somehow figuring out how to snag an underappreciated Grimes back.

This time last year, DiVo was shooting like KAT is now. By the end of the year he finished just under 40% and within 1% of his 3pt % with the Knicks. Similarly, Randle probably reverts some. Im pretty positive KAT will be on the way up soon.

A tale of a few stints. Played well early in the game, but then as the game went on, less effective. Missed some open corner 3s and had one of the saddest fast breaks. He is playing with a lack of confidence. One thing he has done better in the last 3-4 games is hit the boards and give a more active defensive effort. He is pretty lost offensively.
Let's trade for Klay Thompson.Nevermind I see his contract

Yeah you not wrong too.
Weird to state out loud but Knicks as a whole still have not yet figured out how to maximize Brunson and KAT yet, all while doing best for team too.

Totally. Randle is going to revert to All Star and All NBA play. They hate him in Minny. Hahahahahahahahahaha!
Team doesn't seem that much different than last year. Weak 3 point defense, questionable decision making, sporadic shooting, and can get lit up by anyone. I think the difference is this year we do have more firepower to win more shootouts. We will win 50+ games on talent alone and will have a shot against anybody in the East during the playoffs. But as of yet it does not seem like we made the leap to legit contender.
We looked really good at full strength before the Brunson/OG injuries, albeit versus bad teams. So I'm not closing the book on this team finding its stride and looking like a contender at some point. But right now it just kind of feels like last year. A good, flawed, playoff team but not much more.

I'm still wait and see. They are missing a stronger PG play off bench but Deuce, Clarkson, Hart, Shamet have been decent in that absence. New'ish offense and really they need to start focusing on defense after Xmas timeline.
Indiana last year were below .500 until like nearly 40 games in. Heatles took a long while before they hit a stride.
Yeah I'm still waiting.

agreed, i'm just not convinced we can win wit KAT. We look like a better team with just Mitch out there, but he's not reliable. Ihart leaving really screwed us more than I ever thought.
KAT just isn't a fun player to watch either, he's constantly falling out of bounds and screaming for calls while the opposing team goes 5 on 4 on the other end. Very frustrating.
And we really needed to hit in FAgency with the $6m MLE, and it looks like we completely threw that away, didn't even get a rotation player out of it.
I sometimes feel KAT is better served not driving as much, just space the floor and post up mostly. His drives are out of control, he doesn't get many calls, and they usually end up with him sitting with the photographers while the other team scores.

That's why I keep thinking this is not only a year to go after a ring, it's also the KAT show-me year. If he doesn't give you big signs of having it, both individually and for the betterment of the team, he'll start to be on the market. And his next contract talks too, all up in the air and intertwined.

I'm with you on that. Offensive teams also turn it up on defense in the playoffs as well, we might be that kind of team (like Indy or Denver). We aren't really built for 82 game defense but we have pieces to be a playoff defense in shortened spans with more in-game strategy and management.
