Elf is playing in the Gleague for the Austin Toros.
31 year old keeps plugging away. Curious if he makes it back the NBA.
Again.
I know, it boggles the mind! Depends on the mind I suppose.

He is big, has really good defensive instincts and is starting to show some offensive flashes with the shooting and attacking the paint. He won’t be a consistent rotation player this year but he’s only 20. He’s looking like a real 2-way player and possible starter down the road as long as the shooting (and rest of his game) continues to develop.
Wow didn’t know about the 4 years thing.
Gotta finish better at the rim and pass better to teammates. He’s a willing passer but they are just off enough.
But if that e point shot is real, that’s gold
He needs to work on his body and develop his overall strength, but all the skills are there to be developed. He has real potential to be a Siakam-type player in 2-3 years. The Knicks need to sign him to a 2-3 year extension now to lock him up for the next 3-4 years.

Agreed on all. And it seems like he has the body type to gain an easy 15lbs of strength and still do the things he is doing today without dropoff in speed. We shall see.
I can't believe he is only nearly 21 and only started basketball at 16yo. Wild

For all of these reasons I’m surprised he was only signed to a 1 year deal. No future team options or anything. They need to lock him up on a minimum contract over multiple years and see how his develop plays out. Hopefully he agrees to that.

Sometimes you get Mo Diawara, sometimes it turns out to be Trevor Keels.
Mo is a RFA

The key to getting back into the NBA is growing another oversized shiitake mushroom on his head

Maybe its the "fungi" thing that facinates PhilC so?
That or the boggled mind consumed by mushrooms?
They are playing Elf as ball distributor. Wonder if Spurs are using him as a developmntal tool exlusively or a plan to bring him up later in the season as emergency back up in case of injuries?
Personally i'd have forgotten about him but PHilC said he'd never play again in the NBA like three years ago and since he has played for two more NBA teams. No "ElfSanity" mind you, just a dude keeping the fire going vs an arrogant lazy ass fan who disrespects the effort it takes to be a pro.
Me? I am an ambitious arrogant fan.
