We need all our assets ready to go come playoff time for brown to have his weapons ready when needed. Detroit really going full seaosn without a drought of any sort?
Admire The Pistons patience with this team. Two years ago they were awful yet seemingly doing all the right things and made the logical picks at the time drafts were made. That Monty Wililams was that bad was a suprise. Young team needed time.
Is Yabu and Huk for Capela a sensible upgrade?
With Steven Adams out for the season do rockets really makek that trade?
OG is a key piece for any Championship team. If we trade have him that will set us back, not forward. Here is why. There are no better two way players in thus league. He isn't the best defender ( close) he isn't the best scorer but he is a top 3 two way player. And you need those for real actual success. OG is as untouchable as Brunson and Hart. But for different reasons

love OG but I can probably name 20+ better two way players
20 really? I can only think of a few as well balanced on both sides of the ball. And some of the better ones have other issues to consider (injury history, age, contract)...

The only objective way to do this would be using stats. I stated an opinion, but if you want to dispute it, numbers would be the right way

Exactly. Monobrow doesn't count, lol. No hypotheticals please. So make sure to include games played.
If we include the " price to obtain the hypothetical better two way player than OG" it will be very obvious that replacing OG is not a way towards a Championship.

I mean OG makes a ton of $ and has an injury history as well.
My original premise is that trading OG sets us back no matter who we trade him for.

I could argue that OG is underpaid, or at least has a reasonable salary comparing to some of the contracts in the league. OG is my dude, I'll defend him always forever, even if he cannot dribble and chew gum at the he same time. He is still a Demon.

Hey, we agree on this!!!!
What rarely shows in stats is getting a lose ball or tips. Also is when stats occur. A steal in the 4th quarter is more important than in the first half. OG reaches for a lose ball he getting it. Those long arms and strong will tear it away.
Perhaps the contrast of his stoic chill is why KAT looks the fool at times. OG gets mauled and if he upset you can't tell.
The hops? He looks lumbering but he gets there for a block or will dunk in traffic. The put back dunks? shocking at times but thats the demon.
All this and he is guarding the best players often on the opposing team. Yesterday he was on Lebron and Doncic a lot and put up good numbers, and was clutch. This kid should be getting more accolades via DPOY considerations or All Star nod.
Got to keep that hammy healthy and not over use him.
We need to either get Yabu in the rotaton producing or construct a trade for a back up. I don't have anyone in mind that can solve that concept.
Ayo Dosunmu? some rumor being written about knicks and others after him. he makes about 7mm, so we in Yabu territory. Kid is on an expiring deal. not saying what they want but there is a market and thus it won't be cheap. 6-4 guard. With Shamet emerging I wonder how valid this is now?
They prefer to sell Colby White for a first round pick. He also on an expiring.
Yet, Here we have Kolek and under a good our control cheap for two more years after this.
Guys like him, Shamet, and Duece are why was in the conversation. Yabu and Clarkson are depsnseable currently. Dadiet? His upside is still a mystery. Obviously not going to be missed now but is he viewed as a prospect and still so young?

he's 26 averaging 15/4/3 on 52/45/85 shooting. I imagine CHI would want alot for him.

Give 'em KAT and take back expiring contracts, Dosunmu and a 2026 pick swap.

It actually gives them a bit more depth at C

Please indulge us
"2 way" is a very vague term that usually includes any scorer that plays any defense at all or any defender who can hit a shot at all.
But you can't name 20 true elite wing defenders who are efficient 15ppg scorers better than OG. There is a difference between a 2 way guy like OG or McDaniels and a "3 & D" guy who can play great D and stand in the corner.
That said, both OG and Mikal are probably closer to the downside of their careers than their upside. Selling on one of those guys early is not crazy IMO. There are lots of ways to build this team and "wingstop" is not a prerequisite. We saw how good we were with a flamethrower SG like prime Dante and another defensive big. You can always retool the lineup. Trading OG gives you some options because he has value.
Feel like that crow emoji would be working overtime on this thread. Probably the same folk touting Clarkson as the missing piece.
The thing people miss with OG is his absolute impact on the court with or without “money stats”. His mere existence on the court changes where players want to move the ball (away from him). His instincts are great. He anticipates where the ball will be passed and has both the length and athleticism to intercept.
Now, he doesn’t have high usage so a lot of rankings will not give him volume based metrics.
What people see is that he has a high dribble that can get disrupted. So his play creation for himself is not elite. Both he and Mikal play up a position to accommodate the lack of a real PF on the roster. They both have the size/wingspan to manage this but it’s kind of dilbert-effecting their roster in terms of positional size.
I have one “no trade” on this roster and it’s OG.
