This is what I'm realizing now about our starters. They're all veterans and paid a king's ransom.
Now think about the hungry young wings on teams like San Antonio or Detroit. Young, athletic, bursting with energy.
The league has more Tier 2 talent (not superstars, but excellent role players and defenders) than any time I can recall in recent decades.
Lots of teams have drafted good players that are making impacts in the last few seasons and building themselves up fast into playoff teams and contenders.
That's what we're going up against many nights (though not tonight) and we're not bringing the focus and energy every game.
Frankly, our starters are looking stale for weeks now. They don't have the juice of lots of squads they're facing.
TBH, I think Rose has to shake things up. This is not on Coach Brown IMO.
If I had to target one player, it would be KAT even though I feel both OG and Bridges have been major disappointments since winning the cup game.
You can't retool all three positions and I think OG and Bridges can be made to lock in again with the right chemistry, so I'm going to gamble it is KAT they need to trade, hopefully for the Greek.

Jesus that play and the play where OG just dribbled into the lane - appeared to be shot by Harvey Oswald and kind of hopped and dropped to the floor (amazing grace).
And then Mikal tries to corral the ball and falls on his back like a toddler
Going to have to send our Wings to survival camp this Summer. Send them out into the wilderness with only the clothes on their back and a pocket knife and they can't come back until they kill a moose with their bare hands and make love to a wolf pack
Mikal would be dead before 1st nightfall - OG would return but without any limbs to walk on or button his shirt.

OG could still head butt his opponents like the Black Knight
A rescue team would find Mikal curled up inside a giant owl's nest in rigor mortis with his thumb still in his mouth and his eyes still open

Feels like OG/Mikal or anyone else really are NOT capable of killing the locker room -- BUT KAT...KAT may be impacting things because he is clearly not playing hard and not clear if its 1) the coach, 2) his role or 3) thinks they are trading him
Apparently there is some Athletic (Fred Katz) article that came out (recently?) where Katz says Knick teammates were pointing the finger at Kat for piss poor D in playoffs.
Kat is likely dogging it in response to that but I'm not sure on timing of this particular article. Saw numerous comments over on RGM.
Will we have this low morale till we pass the trade deadline and all relax and know that they are part of the team?
Good for Precious. He got screwed over in NY.
I didn’t watch, but it sounds like nothing surprising happened in this game.
And if you told me JB was going to get injured, my first guess would have been his ankles.
Leon shit the bed.
I’m SO GLAD I skipped this one.
First of all, very happy for Precious. I think he always exceeded expectations as a valuable role player and the decision to go for Yabusele has exploded epically in Leon’s face.
This team, this team… I still don’t get this team. I grew up rooting for a rugged team that worked so hard, especially on defense, to prove everyone wrong and win games. Yes, we had many dark times, but the last good one before this latest version was a bit like that too.
Now, this team, when everything is clicking, is a work of art. Offense flowing like a video game and defense with moments where you are really proud of them. But this seems like something that you have to pray for all the right planets to align for it to happen. Defense seems to click mostly thanks to OG, who is a maddeningly inconsistent player so our defense comes and goes. Should it? No, but it does. Our overall cohesion and grit seemed to go down when Hart was injured. He comes back, Knicks don’t miss a beat. Should that happen? Not really, but it does.
Since the cup, every bad habit has shown itself. I still remember Coach Brown questioning the identity of the team and so far they have failed the test miserably. This team looks very undisciplined and maddeningly immature for a freaking veteran team. And now with Brunson down, they have all the excuses they need to keep sinking.
Towns is extremely frustrating and I wonder if his attitude problems have more to do with all of this than it should. I mean, it’s still a freaking veteran team that should give out their best even if one of their main pieces is being problematic. I don’t know, but KAT is earning detractors very quickly and this golden season is starting to look like a big bust if they don’t get their act together.

This is his strike two. Towns is a loser. We need to trade this man and it doesn't even have to be Giannis
i realized KAT just isn't a serious player a while ago. Trade was a mistake. Move on while you can even if it means moving OG too.
KAT & OG for Giannis, Portis & Turner makes us better and deeper.
Bad loss cause I honestly thought we turned the corner on this slump against Portland. But we keep losing games the same way it seems. And this was one of those nights where nothing falls from three. Disappointing nobody really stepped up when JB went out. Precious was good! Wished we kept him over signing Yabusele.
Towns honestly does nearly as much damage with his " naughty hands" as he does good with his scoring and rebounding.

Probably when we played Toronto.
Our entire front line Kat, OG, Josh & Mikal (excluding Mitch) getting absolutely PUNKED by Precious is such a weak ass look.
Not only are we SOFT AS F*** but we simply can’t make basic plays without calamity.
I just want a Center that defends, boxes out and rebounds. Preferably he would be the best at it. I don't care if he doesn't shoot 3's. Just good defense with your feet, rebounding and making the free throws. iHart would be ideal. I'd trade Towns for him straight up. And it would be addition by subtraction
I really don't understand why basketball players don't wear high tops anymore. With all the ankle problems you think they would
KAT has been acting extra quiet, depressed and weird ever since he got engaged. Just saying.
BlueKnickers wrote:This season is in danger of turning into the worst kind of disappointment imaginable for a fan base that has waited decades to contend
Just want to remind everyone that Pacers were 22-19 at this date year.
May not be same path but every team has chance to figure out their play.
That being said, KAT gotta get his head out of ass

Should have been benched - wanted to be benched.
IMHO Brown does not bench Jalen or KAT enough when they just don’t got it.
If the general premise is that Thibs didn’t expand rotation enough or use bench enough (anonymous with other things), this is the exact scenario where the bench should be used.

Something about high tops protects the he ankle but messes up the knee 🤷
