Good thing the Australian Open is starting; I'm neglecting the Knicks for the next 2 weeks. I would be happy with the record if they were a patched up unit of guys overperforming; rather, they're the opposite.
We’re sniffing play-in territory.
Smells kinda ripe.

I’m waiting for him to blow a tire on every drive but he was actually beastly in late 2nd half (all for not).
He was the best he's been in a long while in the 2nd half. He almost brought us back, but he was pretty the only one locking in.

The team is a paper tiger at this time.
I'll say it until I'm blue in the face that we need rim protection and perimeter D. Until that gets fixed, we'll only be able to win by outscoring teams.
We will not contend with KAT. We'll make the playoffs and then get bounced. I hope Leon has another trade shocker in the works.
I'm afraid both Rose and Dolan will have too much pride to admit KAT is not going to cut it and will stick with him.
Brunson and Hart both ignored KAT when he returned to the bench tonight. I don't think this team is united at all.
It’s the same ish from this team. I’m tired of them. This is not about this stretch, this is about issues evident from even when Thibs was here, even before KAT. I’m at a really low point that this group of players can really win a championship.
The January Knicks with Randle and Donte were cool, but we all know they lacked a big piece to contend. The idea was that KAT would be the missing piece, but he is far from that and instead of building on the scrappy defense the team previously had, but the defense is gone, bad habits are either still there or getting worse and depending on Brunson to be superman when this team has enough talent to win simply says it all.
This has been a very underwhelming team and the coaching change just shows that the problem is the mix of players.
This team sucks
I think we should give KAT some credit, it seems the whole league is complaining about the no calls, not only KAT, maybe the refs took some new instructions to reduce fouls, if they did that without informing the teams to adjust, that is plain stupid.
on RealGM they said fouls are 20% less in january compared to Oct!!
to be honest, no calls takes you out the game, it is frustrating!
Did we sell our soul to win the Cup? We have looked bad ever since.

KAT is averaging a career high FTA.

I'm in this boat. I'm done with this version and waiting on the trade.
Been rooting for this team 35 years they never win on the west coast even when they’re good.

Refs have mellowed out on KAT. Last season was a farce between him and the refs.
More so than the loss, I'm more annoyed at how this team responded when Draymond grabbed KAT's foot. No fight. Not a single player had KAT's back. Even the coach was hugging Draymond. Unacceptable!! I understand we live in a different era and these are not the 90s but I'm sorry, if I'm on a team and an opponent is doing that to someone on my team, I'm getting in that guy's face. You think if someone on the Knicks grabbed Moody or Podziemski's foot that Draymond wouldn't have their backs? I'm not saying someone needs to knock out Draymond and get suspended but a little shove and getting in his face letting him know that isn't going to fly goes a long way. And it's just last night with Draymond and KAT. Same shit happened when Suggs spiked the ball at OG. Nobody responded. Last season was the same! Trae rolls dice on the Garden floor and not a single player cared.
These guys are soft. Talented offensively but soft. And soft teams do not win championships or get to the Finals. Soft teams choke 9 point leads in under 1 minute to go. And unless we start showing some balls and fight, we are not getting past Detroit. Cause they also watch these games and take notes. Play physical and beat up the Knicks cause they do not want the smoke and they will shy away like little girls.
On the basketball side of things, more of the same shit. We are playing defense like a lottery team. Can't win giving up 126 points on 54% shooting from the field and giving up 20 threes.
Midway point of the season on pace to win 50 games and the 2nd or 3rd seed and an early and quick exit in the playoffs.

It does seem like they have checked out. Someone needs to let these guys know that nobody gives a shit about the stupid Cup! It's not a real championship and the season won't be seed as successful if we lose early in the playoffs!
Knicks record last 3 years on same date.

Keep wondering if there is a non-Giannis Kat trade where we could net more D and/or athleticism maybe with some ball-handling scoring.
Kat to N.O. --- we get Herb/Missi/D-Murray works.
Kat/Yabu to Suns --- we get Green/Williams/Allen works.
Knicks are draft tanking on one end of the court and may not even doing it on purpose like those other teams

Doubt NO puts KAT next to a guy like Derik Queen, seems like an odd fit, and especially so without defenders like Herb, DMurry.
Been thinking about that other Suns trade. If Knicks could somehow parlay Williams/Allen and whatnot for someone like iHart I don't think the Knicks would hesitate.
Suns gave up Durant for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, #10 pick in 2025.
Knicks are too soft, this shit should not fly as a team. No one getting after it after Green pulls this crap? iHart and DDV would have close lined someone

Agree on Kat and Queen together - hope would be NO dumb.
I'd actually be interested in that Suns deal they sent for Durant for Kat....but assume that ship has sailed with Brooks being key for Suns.
How about this one.....Knicks get young (smaller) center, young/long wing and expiring someone we all know well.
Kat/Yabu/Huck for KP/Okongwu/Risacher -- works in checker.
Not sure what we'd get out of KP other than expiring but net starting level center and wing that oould play off Jalen.

Outside of JB (who doesn't defend either) we are a weak minded group.
You could argue Hart is tough minded but I see him making wrong play far too often defensively (which = weak minded for me).
Watching Kat on pick situations is such a joke - he is SO LAZY and basically wants to guard nothing. He's a big time defensive rebounder but he gives no shits about defending. Actually think he's solid when effort applied but gives effort 1 out of 100 plays.
