Outside of JB (who doesn't defend either) we are a weak minded group.

You could argue Hart is tough minded but I see him making wrong play far too often defensively (which = weak minded for me).

Watching Kat on pick situations is such a joke - he is SO LAZY and basically wants to guard nothing. He's a big time defensive rebounder but he gives no shits about defending. Actually think he's solid when effort applied but gives effort 1 out of 100 plays.

Zach Lowe mentioned 2 Nets he says he's heard linked to Knicks.

D Sharpe
Z Williams

I'm not a Williams fan (always thought soft and can't handle) but Sharpe I've always like because he rebounds like a demon.

Actually if they wanted some return for Mitch -- Mitch for Sharpe + Williams works in checker.

Lowe was suggesting Yabu/Pacome/2 2nds for 1 of Sharpe or Williams.

Sharpe is interesting because he's a physical (Beef Stew lite) type player to me.

Averaging 10 points and 11 boards last 3 games -- only 24. Averages 2.5 offensive rebounds per game for career --- Mitch 3.7 on about 10 mins more PG.

Thibs instilled a defensive identity (somewhat although inconsistent). When we lose to teams like the Suns and Kings (lesser) largely due to physicality - we need changes or we are fooling ourselves to think we can beat OKC and most of the final four teams deep in the playoffs. I previously suggested trying to reunite KAT with Booker in Phx - and think there are several variations that can work. Bringing back Brooks, Allen and either Mark Williams or Nic Richards would make us better simply due to defensive intensity and depth (even if not more lethal offensively). Yes we can't play 5 out as well but we aren't playing it well enough due to our defense being so poor. I'd rather take my chances with a defensive intense team with a slightly lower ceiling vs what we have now. I'd actually consider moving Brunson but I think that would prob never happen with Rose running things. I'd also consider moving KAT for Myles Turner and wing/depth + picks in a three team deal... simply because Turner rotates and tries on defense. Plus we could improve roster flexibility and add depth.

I think Phx is the team to find a deal with as they know they are also middle of the pack and playing above their roster at the moment.

Normally, when we trade a good player( star) I don't want him to go to like the Nets or Celtics. KP comes to mind and also facing Randle 4 times a year is not fun. Well , I feel the opposite with KAT. I want him on the Nets or the Pistons or Hawks or whatever. I want to play against him and that's telling

The team is a paper tiger at this time.

I'll say it until I'm blue in the face that we need rim protection and perimeter D. Until that gets fixed, we'll only be able to win by outscoring teams.

We will not contend with KAT. We'll make the playoffs and then get bounced. I hope Leon has another trade shocker in the works.

I'm afraid both Rose and Dolan will have too much pride to admit KAT is not going to cut it and will stick with him.

Brunson and Hart both ignored KAT when he returned to the bench tonight. I don't think this team is united at all.

Keep wondering if there is a non-Giannis Kat trade where we could net more D and/or athleticism maybe with some ball-handling scoring.

Kat to N.O. --- we get Herb/Missi/D-Murray works.
Kat/Yabu to Suns --- we get Green/Williams/Allen works.

I'm OK with replacing KAT with a third to half of his point production as long as it means mobile bigs who are plus defenders with above average hoops IQs who at least know what to do with the ball when they get it even if they are the fifth option. Guys who move well off the ball and fill open lanes for easy buckets and close up lanes to prevent them.
