Shamet is playing really well, he's what I envisioned when I thought he could be a DDV lite for us. I mean 9ppg in just 20mpg and 44% from 3. DDV is at 38% from 3 and 13ppg despite playing 32mpg. So Shamet has actually given us more scoring per 36 than DDV, heck so has Deuce. Pretty hard to believe that for me b/c DDV just seemed like such a natural scorer who was always putting up 20 every other game here.
Always thought he was a really good facilitator type player who could make some big shots and get on a hot streak
DDV had his best year as a pro with us. Games played also.
It was a good run for and an uptick in his career. He is still not up to that level but its easy to transpose the the past and make assumptions.
https://www.basketball-reference.com/pla...That Deuce was able to step up and fill that role for a 1/3 the salary was a good call. The hope of course that Deuce/Kat was an upgrade over DDV/Randle. Last year it was. You take your opportunties and hope it executes. Jury still out in reality. Im redundant to say the trade was a win-win for both teams outside of 2-11 patch.
Its finals or bust in many of our minds. Is that fair? We are knick fans, its not logical.
Whenever I see Towns or OG playing with extra effort, I always assume they will be missing time, or playing hobbled afterwards.

Clarkson has always been some version of what you see now, a chucker who occasionally makes a nice feed, but who is otherwise going to shoot the ball when he gets it.
His lapses in judgment and turnovers have always been a part of his game. He's a streak shooter so he is just one of those guys a coach should know when to pull if he hasn't got it.
Shamet is twice the ballplayer Clarkson is so it is likely he'll take most of his minutes if he stays healthy.
