This is a big game. Curious to see what adjustments are made for Edgecombe and hopefully KAT is good enough to play.

Yessir

Are we supposed to be concerned that Embiid is coming off a triple double?

We have Mitch!

I bet Embiid didn’t even sleep last night!

Giannis detour for a 2nd.

- anybody find it unusual where Giannis gave the media a 4-6 week timeframe prior to meeting with medical staff or having MRI?

- also on Stein/Fischer podcast their is a note that Portland has 3 of Bucks future picks (28, 29 & 30) and they have always liked Mikal Bridges. Saying there is a scenario where Blazers could help re-coop Bucks some draft capital with Blazers getting Mikal to play with/lead young core.

So something like Kat/Mikal going out - Bucks get Kat and picks via Blazers.

Knicks could end up with Giannis and maybe another bad contract Holiday or Grant or Kuzma (?) somehow --- not clear how salaries would work and I'm speculating on the BAD CONTRACT to Knicks part.

It could also be the Bucks don't want KAT, but other assets, which would be another reason to pursue multi-team trades if the Knicks want to get Giannis

She's saying:

"You'll last 10 seconds"

Bridges taking on Embiid?

I need to make an appointment with my eye doctor.

Fun game so far, but one thing is very clear:

Knicks would not be in this game in the first half without Mitch in the paint

Embiid is rolling so he won't be neutralized, but it would be worse without Mitch and the Sixers would be doing layups all night long

Mitch at least forces Philly to hit more shots from outside to win this game

ToddTT @ 1/24/2026 4:21 PM
Does Embiid even know Mitch is playing tonight?

Yeah, Mitch has blocked his shots and is making Embiid work harder which can pay dividends as Embiid doesn't always have anything left in the gas tank by the 4th quarter

And like I said, without Mitch the Sixers would be doing layup drills.

Don't let Embiid's excellent results so far cloud your opinion of Mitch's importance to winning this game. Without Mitch, we would have no chance to win this.

Only halfway through the third my thesis is playing out like I said it could.

Mitch is now seriously outplaying Embiid and we're forcing Philly to score from outside and they are barely hitting any shots.

Still, a quarter and a half to go so still early, but this is why Mitch is the most important Knick on the floor in this game.

We do not miss KAT out there. Trust me, we can build a better team without KAT.

WP76 @ 1/24/2026 5:19 PM
I've routinely defended KAT but in this game (and in too many of them, frankly) he's been completely useless.

Did he do it?!?

ToddTT @ 1/24/2026 5:22 PM
Mitch with a great second half.

Now with chucklehead Karl fouling out, Mitch is gonna need two weeks off.

ToddTT @ 1/24/2026 5:23 PM
Embiid still limping around.

Good. Fuck him.

That's the conundrum with Mitch

My ideal scenario is we trade KAT for a defensive starting C and keep Mitch as our secret weapon

A healthy Mitch that can play two quarters per game in the playoffs could be the X factor that wins you a championship.

Unfortunately, you cannot build a team with Mitch as your sole starting option at Center due to injury potential.
