Me likey. The Lampe is lit!!!
I was so pumped about that pick. Big name around these parts that summer.
Or how about Milos Vujancic? I was hyped for both of them. Lampe at least might've been an elite talent but was ahead of his time. In this space and pace era, I think he would've excelled.
Twice now Knicks lose a top 9 and 10 picks to tanking teams

The wizards losing by this much to that bulls team is worth an investigation.

Frank Ntilikina and Kevin Knox would like to have a word with you
we are pretty locked into #3 seed but it wouldn't be the worst thing if a few teams out west overtake us in the overall W/L. we could end up picking around #22 in a best case scenario.
Knicks have not had a lottery pick since 2019.
almost 6 years of NOT SUCKING!!!

Same for Bargnani!
But those injuries! Freaking Unicorns just can't hold up to the rigors of the NBA.
IN a less Physical era where the 3pt shot is revered Barg's career might have had a different Trajectory.
Kudo's to Leon for not having us in the Lottery!!!

Would that word be Bust?
They refuse to acknowledge this and to this day they tell anyone who will listen they are underappreciated stars who were shafted by NBA politics
Knicks going hog wild to get that pick right. Lead the way Walt
Luckily Knicks already got rid of their 2027 first rounder. Take that Brooklyn!

I still hold stock on Frank Ntilikina island, lol

I try to forget the Kemba/EF year as well.
Only way to stop tanking and star players resting DNP when they aren’t injured is next CBA, put in that players with above X salary to include players on max and supermax deals have to be active a minimum 65 games to get full annual salary even if it’s guaranteed. If they play in less than 65 games the salary becomes pro rated. They already do that for awards like MVP. They can still do waivers for players with legitimate injuries like ACL tears and fractures those can be proven with MRIs and X-rays.
The NBAPA will scream bloody murder and their will be a massive strike but that is literally the only way to stop this.

You don't understand the word "Guaranteed"?
A massive strike is more damaging than tanking. The Tank was more widespread this year than in years past and league addressed it. It also gave the Silver some arbitrary leverage if a team steps over a line.
Its a deep draft and teams figured out if your not in the playoff hunt there is not incentive to win.
New rules address a lot of the issues.
Making injuries arbitrary for exceptions is an interesting concept but opens many complications. Most injuries are "legit".
On a side note don't see as much "Mental Illness" type disclosures this year as we have seen in the past. Perhaps League cracked down on that one? Not saying it was a tank type instrument, but was way open to interpretation.
I like some of the changes but they are overly complicated IMO. Just do flat odds for all lotto teams and extend it to the playin teams too and teams that lose in the 1st round.
worst thing that happens is a decent/good team gets the #1 and takes the next step.

Bottom teams that aren't shooting for playoffs won't compete still, they have zero incentive to. They will just tank less

there's no incentive to be bad. If you're a fringe playoff team you still want to compete and make the playin as you still have the same odds anyway, except you get playoff gate money and experience. no one is going to throw a 1st round set just for better odds.
really bad teams will be bad, but wont get any better odds, so might as well try to win as much and sell as many tickets and play your stars.
