Sochan with the quick impact.

Sic 'em!

I am officially out on Jose. too small, can't shoot, and too much dribbling

I love his energy and heart but that's not enough to compensate.

Also something is not right with KAT upstairs. He's a big cream puff on defense. He needed to play tough down low and way too inconsistent with that

Looks like Alvarado picking up that $4.5 mil option this summer

fitzfarm @ 2/19/2026 10:07 PM
Dang if only we played with that intensity for the whole game … this one’s on the missed open 3’s and lack of defensive intensity
WP76 @ 2/19/2026 10:09 PM
It bugs me to see Brown yukking it up with Bickerstaff after our third straight @$$ kicking by the Pistons.
fitzfarm @ 2/19/2026 10:10 PM
Really disappointed in the lack of mo in the second half … bridges is totally a disappointment per usual .

Just no intensity… we should have put Cade on his ass … make him feel us get in his head … just disappointed

ToddTT @ 2/19/2026 10:10 PM
I thought our specialty was beating teams that have injuries.

Now I don’t know what we’re good at.

LivingLegend @ 2/19/2026 10:15 PM
Brunson with 6 TO's - killed on D and on the boards all night.

Combo of Josh/OG/Mikal were no shows.

Cade took 34 shots to get his 42.

Mo looked good out there but yanked after 9 minutes.

What is Brown thinking putting Sochan in with either Josh or Mitch. He should be playing next to Kat and next to shooters.

We were soft as f**k --- Kat making Paul Reed look like Bill Russell.

Brunson/Hart/Kat can't play hard on both ends on extended minutes -- they ALL rest on D and Pistons don't rest (apparently).

Alvarado is fine. Not every matchup is for every player. He destroyed Philly. Doesn’t mean he’s ideal for big minutes in every game. But he brings, at minimum, energy on defense and dribble penetration in non-Brunson minutes, which is needed.

It seems like these games all matter way more to Detroit. Hopefully we get them in the playoffs and that changes.

Is Paul Reed better than Mitch?

Asking for a friend because every time he plays against us looks like an NBA legend.

Mitch is overrated.

Think about this - we just gave up 126 points in a big home game to a team that was....

- missing it's top 2 (legit centers)
- who started D Robinson, T Harris, A Thompson and P-Reed
- who brought off the bench the great Tolu Smith, R Holland, the great Javonte Green, C Lavert and D Jenkins

126 muddafuggin points to that cast of characters.

I could understand losing 88-76 because we shat the bed from 3 but 126 to this group....come on man.

fitzfarm @ 2/19/2026 10:47 PM
I mean, it’s the intensity. The last 5 min of the game we had it … if we played that way for 48 min we win this game … more smooth rotation… lack of mo was disappointing… Shohan is a good pick up but Mo gives us shooting plus 3 and vision … no reason to not give him minutes… brown should watch how Carlisle subs and mimic that Sporadic intensity on the rotation it keeps your players fresh and also engaged because they know their number could be called at any minute… Brown needs more trust in Mo .. he’s super talented .

Again, no reason Mo should get his minutes cut because of shohan they are different players that played different positions.. OG laid a complete egg tonight. Bridges is typical bridges with underwhelming play. And heart did not look to score at all… if Kat played the way he played in the third quarter for the entire game we would’ve won this game period .

Again, it boils down to the lack of intensity and the fact that Mike Brown needs to work on smoothing out his rotation and please God do not give up on Diawara.

Gonna try not to get too down about this one. Lost to a better team. At least it wasn't another 30 point blowout. It was competitive for the first 35 minutes. Pistons just took over at the end of the 3rd and never looked back. They are just another team that has our number this season. You can tell losing last season really pissed them off. Cunningham was the best player on the court. OG was rusty at both ends and just couldn't guard him or make a shot. Nobody can when a guy that talentsd gets into rhythm.

The three point shooting was brutal but that happens. Brunson did what Brunson does but it was another game with very little effort to get teammates involved and he had a few defensive lapses that really hurt and killed momentum. KAT was again ignored in the first half but got going a bit in the 3rd but you can see he is not part of the gameplan on this team. I didn't like how we argued every call. This team just lacks focus and leadership.

Pistons are a very good team and that record isn't a fluke. They play with a sense of urgency and have earned to be the favorites in the East imho. Cunningham should be in the MVP conversation and Bickerstaff has done a great job. That doesn't mean they have continued success in the playoffs. We've seen so many teams have great regular season records only to fall early in the playoffs. I have a feeling one of these two teams won't make it to the conference finals as expected.

Mentality

The Pistons feel like they are on a mission. The Knicks think they can turn it up when it matters, even when they have been burned before with that same mentality.

It sucks as a fan, but this has been the story for a while now. Still believe that KAT and Bridges are not the identity this team needs.

Disappointing but unfortunately not surprising at all.

BlueKnickers @ 2/20/2026 12:11 AM
Puh-thetic

Wingstop ain't all that. Some nights Mikal and OG disappear completely.

And if they can't get it done, the Pistons will cook us in the playoffs because Cade is HUGE like Magic Johnson was and his game is looking almost exactly like vintage Lebron.

If Cade keeps this up he will be considered a Top 5 player due to the way he is elevating the Pistons in ways nobody on the Knicks is capable of doing.

When I see games like this I have no expectation of a title run and I can already hear the off-season trade machine gearing up.

That was one of the worst shooting performances I have ever seen. We sort of competed and choked at the same time if that makes sense. But it won't get them very far.

This team lacks an identity. We are lazy. We don't show up full-time. The Pistons never took their foot off the pedal and eventually they pulled away because of their persistence.

Lazy teams lose when it matters. Talent doesn't mean sh!t

Coach Brown may only get one season to get it done. I think he'll be replaced if this keeps up.

Knicksfan @ 2/20/2026 12:18 AM
My main problem is that we are operating with what seems a mentality that the East is ours because of what happened to the Pacers and Celtics last playoffs, and the reality is far from that. Not only have the Pistons done the jump and believe every single time that they should win, but the Celtics have done an amazing job without their main star to get that 2nd spot and the Cavs look rejuvenated with the deal for Harden.

I know the regular season ends up in the rear view once the playoffs start, but tendencies do follow you. Last season, one of our problems was that belief that we could turn it up when it mattered. To their credit, they did for two series, but it’s infuriating to see such a talented team slack like they do. They ramped up the intensity in the final minutes, which shows you that while they are capable of it, some nights they just decide not to.

This team’s immaturity is infuriating.

We have three overpaid starters in KAT, OG and Bridges who don't think they have to earn their salary every minute they are on the floor.

They knew they had to bring their A game on defense tonight. Their complacency and self-entitlement is revolting.

I've put up with a lot as a Knicks fan, but I'm not going to support this much lazy fukken BS for much longer.

I don't care about a 50 point win against the Nets. Too often they just vanish against the top teams. I miss the teams from the 70s and the 90s. Those were grinders whom you never had to make excuses for. If they lost they left it out on the floor.

This crew is a bunch of fukken tampons.

BlueKnickers @ 2/20/2026 12:33 AM
And I'm not going to unload as hard on Brunson right now, but it would be a bad assumption to think he can elevate this team by himself. He's not that kind of guy. Being clutch is cool, but that is something entirely different and only useful if you have the full foundation in place to contend for a ring. He's not quite a leader that some people think he is. He's pretty much a SG playing PG and it does not always lead to an effective offense as a whole. He's not a plus defender so as long as he tries to play D I'm already inclined to give him a pass for that compared to the other starters. But our offensive chemistry is completely hit and miss with no consistency and often with zero cohesion. Part of it is how Brunson plays and some of it may be Brown not running plays for the other guys, especially KAT. That first half was a joke for KAT. How can he not be fed the PnR at least half a dozen times a game? If Brunson can't bring himself to make it happen, then Brown needs to make him do it.
